2. For my Media Studies coursework we
where required to create a film trailer
going together with an ancillary task,
Creating a poster and a magazine cover
for my film. Horror is the genre of my film
so I have put most of the codes and
conventions of a horror and the unique
selling points of my film trailer into three
products.
3.
4. • After researching teaser trailers (Wolf Creek&
Scream) which are the films I decided to look at. I
learned that the colours, themes and characters all
had to contribute to the effect of the film. After I
created all three media products I feel all three
pieces of work effectively together. I realised the
colours and style of the film trailer had to be dark
and gloomy.
5. • The text I have used on the poster and magazine re
all the same, with the same colour scheme and text
so that there is a direct link to each media product
so the audience see the link across each media
product. Each media product all include the same
people which creates the effect.

7. • The colour scheme is black, red and white to
represent ‘blood’ and ‘horror’ and this theme goes
through the whole three tasks.
• My audience can see that my task are about a
horror trailer and they can tell this by the effective
effects and writing. I have asked my actors to wear
everyday clothes in each scene, and the costume
and the mis en scene are all the same, this includes
all natural makeup and clothing.
8. • I have followed real life media products and I think
that my products follow the conventions of a media
product. All three tasks have a synergy throughout
and I believe they look like real media products. It is
obvious that the three products all belong to the
same media product.
