Here is the concept history starting from FLOATING WORLD from which we extrapolate the

2. The "Floating World" culture developed in Yoshiwara, the licensed red‐light district of Edo
(modern Tokyo), which was the site of many brothels, chashitsu tea houses, and kabuki
theaters frequented by Japan's growing middle class. The ukiyo cultures arose in other cities
Such as Osaka and Kyoto. The famous Japanese woodblock prints known as ukiyo‐e, or
"pictures of the Floating World," In These districts had Their origins and Often depicted
scenes of the Floating World itself Such as geisha, kabuki actors, sumo wrestlers, samurai,
chonin and prostitutes .
FLOATING POP is TREND TODAY's worldwide: represent mass consumption, leisure and
entertainment globalized using a universal language "POP", this was already among the
oriental and western culture, begin of today's global marketplace.
The term historically is Also an ironic allusion to the homophone "Sorrowful World"
(憂き 世), the earthly plane of death and rebirth from Which Buddhists sought release.
Here is isplay a metaphoric meaning As the REBIRTH OF ART is now possible through
globalization's waves and social media.
