2. CAT Shuttle Services
Round-trip shuttle services on March 17 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the following locations:
• Westside at the Westside Shopping Center on Hwy 80 in Garden City
• Eastside at the Island Towne Centre on Whitemarsh Island
• Southside at the Savannah Mall near the Burlington/Target corridor
Parade patrons may park their cars at these locations and ride the shuttles into downtown Savannah. The shuttles
will begin return trips from the parade in downtown Savannah from 12:00 NOON – 3:00 PM.
After the 3 p.m. hour, shuttle patrons can return to their cars via CAT’s fixed routes:
• The 3A and 3B routes will return within a block of the Westside Shopping Center so you would have
to walk that block.
• The 10 East Savannah route will return to the Island Towne Centre.
• The 114 Abercorn will return to the Savannah Mall.
COST:
A $3 day pass provides a ride to the parade and a return trip.
Patrons are encouraged to have correct change.
Passes may be purchased in advance at CAT’s main office, 900 East Gwinnett Street or CAT Central, 124 Bull
Street and The General Store at Oglethorpe Mall (next to JC Penney).
The Savannah Belles Ferry will begin operating at 7:00 AM. Between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM, service will be
available from the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center and the Savannah City Hall Landing only.
After 4:30 PM, normal scheduling will resume to include the Marriott Savannah Riverfront’s pier. Service will be
available until 12:00 AM.

Parking at Savannah International Trade & Convention Center
Parking for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be available at the Savannah International Trade & Convention
Center (One International Drive) beginning at 7AM and ending at 3PM on Saturday, March 17 for a fee of $10
per vehicle including a round trip on the water ferry for all vehicle passengers.
PLEASE NOTE: The Trade Center Parking Lot will not admit vehicles after 3pm on Saturday, March 17.
The water ferry will run beginning from Savannah International Trade & Convention Center at 7:10 AM until
midnight for convenience of Trade Center and Westin guests.
3. Visitor Information Center Lot
Open for parking at 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 17th. Limited RV parking available. The Savannah Visitors Center is
located at 301 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
COST: $10
On-street Parking
Parking is prohibited in the parade marshaling areas and on the parade route. Parking meters in these areas will be
bagged the night before. Vehicles in prohibited areas will be towed beginning 6 a.m.
Available on-street, metered parking will be free all day Saturday the 17th.
What if my car is towed?
Police will mobilize the towing companies to remove cars from the parade route starting at 6 a.m.
All vehicles illegally parked will be towed at owner’s expense. Affected motorists must obtain a vehicle release form
from SCMPD headquarters at Habersham and Oglethorpe Streets in order to claim any towed vehicle. Proof of
ownership is required to obtain a vehicle release form from the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department.
Before parking, be sure that you are legally parked, and not obstructing any roads or driveways, especially
around the squares and areas near the parade route. Understand that this will be Savannah’s most populated day
of the year and parking will be at a premium, so be careful where you park. Parking Services and the Police
Department will be ensuring that the roadways are open and unobstructed. Illegally parked cars will be ticketed.
Vehicles that obstruct any roadway will be ticketed and towed at the owners expense.
Do not move barricades or remove “no parking” bags. Your vehicle will be towed and you will incur both
towing and storage fees.
Water Ferry
The water ferry will run beginning from Savannah International Trade & Convention Center at 7:10 AM until midnight
for convenience of Trade Center and Westin guests.
4. WHAT IF I’M ARRESTED?
People who are arrested will be taken to the Chatham County Detention Center, 1050 Carl Griffin Drive, off Chatham
Parkway. For information, call 912-652-7700.
Suspected violators of state laws will be taken directly to the Chatham County Jail for arraignment.
If the arrestee is cooperative, lives within Chatham, or a surrounding county, and is charged only with a local ordinance
violation, he/she may be released on subpoena.
People accused of violating city ordinances will be taken to special Recorder’s Court sessions scheduled March 17. A
Recorder's Court judge will then set bond.

If you can’t make bond, expect to remain in jail. Violations of city ordinances are punishable by up to 30 days in jail or
a maximum fine of $500.
Violations of state laws are punishable by up to 12 months in jail or a $1,000 fine.
All misdemeanor arrests and convictions are reported to the Georgia Crime Information Center and the National Crime
Information Center, which creates a criminal history of the violator.

Citations
Should you receive a citation for violating a city ordinance, it can be handled just like any other ticket. Chatham County
residents may be released with a city ordinance summons. If you receive a summons, you can avoid a court appearance
by paying the fine in advance at the Recorders Court window at the Chatham County Courthouse, 133 Montgomery
Street. You always have the right to appear in court and plead your case. You will be given a court date when you
receive the citation. Should you ignore it, you will be found in Contempt of Court.
5. What not to do...

• Taking alcohol outside the Festival Area, which is defined as follows: North of Jones Street to the river; east of
Boundary Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; west of East Broad Street. SEE MAP.
• Drinking alcohol in a parked motor vehicle.
• Drinking or possessing alcohol if you are younger than 21.
• Exposing yourself.
• Going to the bathroom anywhere other than in a portable toilet or restroom. SEE MAP.
• Disorderly conduct; fighting.
The following state misdemeanor offenses require an appearance in court for citizens:
• Providing alcohol to a minor.
• Allowing a minor to enter an alcohol establishment.
NOTE: Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police suggest those who drink alcohol do so in moderation. Each year
many attendees are rushed to area hospitals for treatment of the effects of excessive alcohol use.

6. Free Wi Fi Access
The City of Savannah has partnered with Seimitsu to offer free Wi Fi via “surfsavannah.” Outside areas that are
wired include River Street, Bay Street, Reynolds Square, Ellis Square, Franklin Square and the South End of
Forsyth Park near the Forsyth Fort Café as well as along Martin Luther King Boulevard from Victory Drive to
River Street. Users are required to register and usage limit is 2 hours per day.
Visitors with extended stays may purchase unlimited Wi Fi service for 30 days for $10 at the Seimitsu office at
1523 Bull Street (32nd street and Bull). Call 525-0345 for more information. Service is limited to the above
areas of downtown Savannah.
