INTRODUCTION
High Academic Achievement for ALL Task
Force formed to ensure equity and access
for ALL of our students so that all students
are assured a high-quality education
regardless of differences.
The Board approved the recommendations
from the task force on November 29.
The staff has now completed most of their pre-
implementation work.
MODIFY PROGRAMMING
Elimination of Remedial Classes

   To be considered for an advanced course, students must first meet any
   prerequisites for that course and meet the following body of evidence

34% in growth OR a 4 in class            (80%+) in class

50% in growth OR a 4 in class            (85%+) in class

Proficient Low on TCAP AND above         Proficient Low on TCAP AND a 6
65% in growth AND a 4 in class           (90%) in class
NOTE: 65% growth is barometer for SHS for criterion for appeal


 Prior year CSAP/TCAP will be used until most recent scores are released

  stakeholders (build IB identity)
• Training schedule completed
• Authorization for Frisco and
  Silverthorne are scheduled
• Completed DP self-evaluation
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Completed differentiation training for
  coaches
• Offered a class on instructional coaching
• Completed science scope and sequence
• Working on math scope and sequence and
  best instructional practices in math
• Ongoing classes offered on standards and
  formative assessment, and ELL strategies
NEXT STEPS
• Continue to develop the advanced courses
• Communicate advanced class offerings and
  body of evidence to students and parents
• Communicate advanced course progression
  from grades 6-12 to students and parents
• Communicate ICAP training dates
• Complete IB training as scheduled this
  summer
• Develop plan to increase DP enrollment
NEXT STEPS
• Apply the body of evidence to place students
  in advanced classes and communicate with
  students and parents
• Vertical and horizontal articulation of science
  and math standards in order to prepare
  students for higher level advanced science
  classes
• Review rigor audit and implement
  recommendations as feasible
• Ongoing professional development for staff

INTRODUCTION High Academic Achievement for ALL Task Force formed to ensure equity and access for ALL of our students so that all students are assured a high-quality education regardless of differences. The Board approved the recommendations from the task force on November 29. The staff has now completed most of their pre- implementation work.
  • 3. MODIFY PROGRAMMING Elimination of Remedial Classes •Pre-Algebra eliminated from 9th grade •No remedial classes is social studies, science or English •Support classes offered as interventions

BODY OF EVIDENCE To be considered for an advanced course, students must first meet any prerequisites for that course and meet the following body of evidence SMS SHS Advanced on TCAP (in relevant content) Advanced on TCAP (in relevant content) Proficient High on TCAP AND above Proficient High on TCAP AND a 4+ 34% in growth OR a 4 in class (80%+) in class Proficient Medium on TCAP AND above Proficient Medium on TCAP AND a 5+ 50% in growth OR a 4 in class (85%+) in class Proficient Low on TCAP AND above Proficient Low on TCAP AND a 6 65% in growth AND a 4 in class (90%) in class NOTE: 65% growth is barometer for SHS for criterion for appeal Prior year CSAP/TCAP will be used until most recent scores are released
  • 6. ICAP – INDIVIDUAL CAREER AND ACADEMIC PLAN • Purchased Naviance Software to begin in grade 7 • Training of staff scheduled • Identified by grade what students will be required to accomplish with ICAP • Review student course pathways to ensure challenging selections are made
  • 7. INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE • Continue to implement communication plan to raise awareness and learning of PYP, MYP and DP to all stakeholders (build IB identity) • Training schedule completed • Authorization for Frisco and Silverthorne are scheduled • Completed DP self-evaluation

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT • Completed differentiation training for coaches • Offered a class on instructional coaching • Completed science scope and sequence • Working on math scope and sequence and best instructional practices in math • Ongoing classes offered on standards and formative assessment, and ELL strategies

NEXT STEPS • Continue to develop the advanced courses • Communicate advanced class offerings and body of evidence to students and parents • Communicate advanced course progression from grades 6-12 to students and parents • Communicate ICAP training dates • Complete IB training as scheduled this summer • Develop plan to increase DP enrollment

NEXT STEPS • Apply the body of evidence to place students in advanced classes and communicate with students and parents • Vertical and horizontal articulation of science and math standards in order to prepare students for higher level advanced science classes • Review rigor audit and implement recommendations as feasible • Ongoing professional development for staff
