Obama Aloha, this is Sara, calling from Peer News. We’re conducting a short survey
about some important issues facing Hawaii. This is a chance to have your voice heard,
so please participate. First, do you generally have a positive or negative opinion of
President Barack Obama?
Ige What is your opinion of Governor David Ige?
Schatz What is your opinion of Senator Brian Schatz?
Hirono What is your opinion of Senator Mazie Hirono?
Gabbard What is your opinion of Second District Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard?
Takai What is your opinion of First District Congressman Mark Takai?
Caldwell What is your opinion of Honolulu mayor Kirk Caldwell?
MedMarijuanaDispensaries Now I have a few quick questions about some important
issues in Hawaii. Medical marijuana was legalized in Hawaii in the year 2000. However,
currently there is no legal way for patients to purchase medical marijuana -- they must
either grow their own, or buy it illegally on the black market. The Hawaii legislature is
considering legislation during this session that would create production centers and
dispensaries for medical marijuana in each county. Would you support or oppose this
proposed legislation?
RecreationalMarijuana In other states, including Colorado and Washington, they have
gone a step further, legalizing marijuana not just for medical use, but also for
recreational use. Do you think Hawaii should do the same, and legalize recreational
marijuana use?
Rail Do you generally support or oppose the Honolulu Rail project?
ExciseTax The Hawaii legislature is also considering extending the General Excise Tax
surcharge on Oahu past its scheduled expiration date in 2022 in order to help fund the
Honolulu Rail Project. What do you think -- do you support or oppose extending the
General Excise Tax on Oahu to help fund the rail project?
QGMO Now I have a quick question about genetically modified foods, which are often
referred to as GMOs. Do you think there should be a requirement for foods containing
GMOs to be labeled?

  • 1. 1 Obama Aloha, this is Sara, calling from Peer News. We’re conducting a short survey about some important issues facing Hawaii. This is a chance to have your voice heard, so please participate. First, do you generally have a positive or negative opinion of President Barack Obama? Ige What is your opinion of Governor David Ige? Schatz What is your opinion of Senator Brian Schatz? Hirono What is your opinion of Senator Mazie Hirono? Gabbard What is your opinion of Second District Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard? Takai What is your opinion of First District Congressman Mark Takai? Caldwell What is your opinion of Honolulu mayor Kirk Caldwell? MedMarijuanaDispensaries Now I have a few quick questions about some important issues in Hawaii. Medical marijuana was legalized in Hawaii in the year 2000. However, currently there is no legal way for patients to purchase medical marijuana -- they must either grow their own, or buy it illegally on the black market. The Hawaii legislature is considering legislation during this session that would create production centers and dispensaries for medical marijuana in each county. Would you support or oppose this proposed legislation? RecreationalMarijuana In other states, including Colorado and Washington, they have gone a step further, legalizing marijuana not just for medical use, but also for recreational use. Do you think Hawaii should do the same, and legalize recreational marijuana use? Rail Do you generally support or oppose the Honolulu Rail project? ExciseTax The Hawaii legislature is also considering extending the General Excise Tax surcharge on Oahu past its scheduled expiration date in 2022 in order to help fund the Honolulu Rail Project. What do you think -- do you support or oppose extending the General Excise Tax on Oahu to help fund the rail project? QGMO Now I have a quick question about genetically modified foods, which are often referred to as GMOs. Do you think there should be a requirement for foods containing GMOs to be labeled?
