A practical, replicable model for transforming a family from a condition of lack to a sustainable lifestyle of prosperity,[object Object],Life TransformationHouse,[object Object]

The Life Transformation House model is a pathway to sustainability, for families ready and willing to participate in this intensive, transformative process that incorporates teaching, training, coaching and mentoring within the Life Systems Architecturedeveloped by Erl Morrell-Stinson.,[object Object]
In this dream, I see two Life Transformation Houses started within driving distance of the Twin Cities area – that each result in more Life Transformation Houses being formed.,[object Object],Each house holds two or more participating families each plus S.I.I. certified"Life Transformation Facilitator(s)." ,[object Object],These houses have plenty of space to accommodate each family, to allow for privacy as well as shared space.,[object Object],A family who wants to participate, walks through a qualifying process that includes some front-end intention and integrity work. ,[object Object],Those who qualify ( based on a high level of intention and the ability to keep agreements ) will be assigned to a House, and a Facilitator, for 12 months. ,[object Object],There will be specific pass-through points every quarter, and the opportunity to renew the commitment for another 12 months if all points of qualification have been met.,[object Object],Members of this family will go through an intense educative process that emphasizes experiential learning (reflexive) in real world projects - that include a combination of community service, business, and gainful employment.,[object Object],The outcome is a sustainable family (each member having the ability to create value for others) and a home of their own, within 12-24 months; and a significant positive impact on the local community (community prosperity.),[object Object],The Life Transformation House Story,[object Object],By Christy Morrell-Stinson,[object Object],This dream has unfolded over the course of 2010.,[object Object],In February 2011, I traveled to Chicago on a limousine bus trip with 52 women from the Minneapolis area, to participate in a Dream University Workshop with Marcia Wieder.,[object Object],I shared this dream with my workshop companions and got specific feedback.,[object Object]
Participating Families…,[object Object],This process will work well for families who are ready and willing to go through this intensive transformation process.,[object Object],Not every family is ready and willing to go through this process, many families will be better served by other programs or resources.,[object Object],This is a private process that works just like the process of renting a room to a particular type of person. ,[object Object],The participating family leaders are defined as a husband and wife, a single mom, or a single dad.,[object Object],There may be childrenin the family, and there may be pets.,[object Object],There may be other relatives who have been part of the family unit, such as a grandparent, aunt or uncle.,[object Object],These are people who have lived a ‘middle-class’ lifestyle but have experienced some kind of set-back that has resulted in the loss of their home, such as unemployment.,[object Object],Chronic homelessness will be better served by a program designed specifically for that situation.,[object Object]
What will be,[object Object],As a result of,[object Object],life transformation houses,[object Object],Primary: sustainable families,[object Object],Secondary: community prosperity,[object Object],Outcomes,[object Object]
Sustainable Families – Defined As…,[object Object],The primary outcome is a sustainable family with a home of their own, within 12-24 months.,[object Object],Each family member has the ability to create significant value for others,[object Object],Each family member has a clear sense of purpose and understands how to live with intention, a simple joyful life,[object Object],Each family member has the ability to create and manage money (financial literacy),[object Object],The family credit reports have been repaired and scores are healthy!,[object Object],Each family member is willing and able to pass on what they have learned, to pay it forward…- even to start the next house!,[object Object]
Community Prosperity,[object Object],The secondary outcomes are around the idea of the family actively participating in ongoing community prosperity.,[object Object],The family is creating significant value within the local community through community service, gainful employment, and entrepreneurial business.,[object Object],The family is involved with a Leadership Transformation Circle that includes four or more other members of the community who demonstrate active leadership.,[object Object]
A list covering any assumptions made by the life transformation house planner,[object Object],Assumptions,[object Object]
Assumptions about the House Itself,[object Object],A housing facility will qualify if all these things are true:,[object Object],The owner(s) will commit to this process for at least 2 years.,[object Object],The owner(s) are able to sustain the utility costs, property taxes, and mortgage payments (if any) for the full two years - if necessary.,[object Object],The owner(s) understand the first goal of the program is that all housing costs will be sustained by the participating family(s) over four stages:,[object Object],Stage 1: Utilities (within 3 months),[object Object],Stage 2: Property Taxes (within 6 months),[object Object],Stage 3: Market Rent (within 9 months),[object Object],Stage 4: Property Improvements (within 12 months),[object Object]
Assumptions about the Onsite Facilitators,[object Object],One family (husband and wife and children if any) will act as Onsite Facilitators:,[object Object],This family will provide daily and weekly facilitation of the Life Transformation Core Team, providing coaching and mentoring in partnership with the external team, who they recruit and involve.,[object Object],This family will provide this in return for living onsite without charge. All housing costs will be covered by the owners of the facility until the participating family(s) are able to cover them in the four stages allowed for.,[object Object]
What is needed to start the first house,[object Object],Components,[object Object]
Checklist to Get Started…,[object Object],[object Object]
Intake Coordinator
Onsite Facilitator family
Participating family (1 or more, depending on house capacity)
Trainers, Coaches and Mentors ready and willing to participate in the process
Open Source Resource Center(s)
Primary source of funds: The participating families create revenue as part of their training and coaching.,[object Object],[object Object],Sponsors – private individuals or companies,[object Object],Grants and Foundations,[object Object]
Educative components:,[object Object],Life Transformation Core Team,[object Object],Coaching and Mentoring – internal educative process,[object Object],Private: involves only the family and facilitator and their coaches and mentors,[object Object],Leadership Transformation Circle,[object Object],Teaching and Training format that includes group coaching – external educative process,[object Object],Public: involves other members of the community in a larger circle around the Core Team,[object Object]

Life transformation house model

  1. I'm dreaming about...Life Transformation Houses In this dream, I see two Life Transformation Houses in the Twin Cities region. These houses hold two families each plus "Life Transformation Facilitator(s)." These houses are really really big, with plenty of space ((3 BR x 2 BATHS) x 3) = 9 BR x 6 BATHS minimum total. A family walks through a qualifying process that includes some front-end intention and integrity work. Those who qualify (high level of intention and the ability to keep agreements - which can be measured in some creative ways...) will be assigned to a House, and a Facilitator, for 12 months. There will be specific pass-through points every quarter, and the opportunity to renew the commitment for another 12 months. Members of this family will go through an educative process that emphasizes experiential learning (reflexive) in real world projects that include a combination of employment, community service, direct sales, and/or social enterprise. The outcome is a self-sustainable family (each member having the ability to create value for others) and a home of their own, within 12-24 months.
