We have just enough time to catch our breath this week after what
has seemed a dizzying stretch since Halloween Cabaret
Framer's Market Model United Nations Dr. Zimbardo's events
'This Changes Everything' movie and the usual high energy that is
Green School. We'll add one more Farmer's Market on Friday, 20
November because it was so much fun the first time. Look for the
stalls to be set up in the Heart of School as rainy season seems to
finding its footing.

The Art of Being Mindful
‘Are you really going to shave your head at assembly Ibu Libby?’
‘Yes, I sure am.’
‘Why?’
A truly wonderful conversation followed between myself and several Grade 3 students during
lunchtime last Friday. We discussed palm oil plantations, the destruction of rain-forest habitats,
orangutans, monkeys, palm oil products and ‘was it ok to just buy a container of palm
oil’?.. A truly rich conversation with great questions and discussion followed.
I realised I had already started ‘Raising Awareness’ of the burning of Indonesian rain-forests and
supporting the initiative ‘Hair for Haze’. This wasn’t about raising money, by simply dropping $$
into an envelope, but spreading the message, talking about the destruction of rain-forests to plant
palm plantations for the production of palm oil.

GS Green Generation leaves for Paris in less than one week!
It has been a long, arduous, and fulfilling process to get where we are now, but we are more
ready than ever to take on the task ahead of us. Our GoFundMe is closing! And we cannot
spread enough gratitude to so many incredible individuals who have helped us in this journey,
both through finance and heartfelt support.
6. While we have been preparing for this odyssey, the attacks last week in the city of our destination,
as well as across the world, are more shocking than ever.
We had many long discussions as a group since, and are even more driven to show our support
for Paris and for this mission.
Climate change is not just an issue that pertains to weather. It is socioeconomic and has global
implications. We are extremely passionate members of this collective call for action on these
ubiquitous problems, and are hoping that the world, rather than being discouraged or crippled by
fear, can find inspiration out of this tragedy to make the necessary change.
GS Green Generation will also be performing our enhanced version of Noble Material this Friday
at assembly, as well as giving a final kick-off fundraiser with t-shirts, Bio Soap, and a bake sale.
