Here are a few of the publishers that I researched when trying to decide what
publisher I would use for my magazine.
3. Who would Publish my magazine?
I would have my magazine published by Immediate Media Company,
http://www.immediate.co.uk/ who publish the television magazine radio
times alongside other magazines and music magazines. I chose Immediate
Media Company as they do not publish a music magazine that is in the
Indie Rock market and I feel that it would be better as I would not be in
competition with magazines from the same publisher.
4. Who will I be competing with?
I will be competing with music magazines NME, www.nme.com/, and
MOJO, www.mojo4music.com/, as they produce magazines that are
within the Indie Rock genre and are similar to the magazine that I
will be producing, NME being a weekly magazine whilst MOJO is a
monthly magazine. Both magazines contain things relevant to the
Indie Rock genre such as news about the Indie Rock genre,
interviews with artists, concert information. I used these magazines
as guides when producing my magazine, especially NME and
followed the codes and conventions that they used.
