To establish the situation within CONUL member libraries and
Institutes of Technology libraries in Ireland regarding the
implementation of RDA
To investigate the opportunities for sharing resources and training
Research funded by a bursary from the Library Association of
Ireland Cataloguing and Metadata Group (LAICMG) and
supported by The Library at Maynooth University.

• Staffing – small numbers in general with multiple roles
• Expertise – who has the time
• LMS systems awaiting upgrades, newer versions
• No centralised organisation or forum providing direction and
support such as the British Library
• Records downloaded vs Original cataloguing
