1. Picture Background
• Text can be very hard to read with a
picture in the background.
• Options:
✴ Just use the picture alone
✴ Switch to a plain background
✴ Find a font color to contrast with all
colors in picture
2. Color Contrasts
• Try not make people ill with
your color combinations.
• Simple background with easy to
read color contrasts make the
most successful slide shows.
3. Font Size
• If you try to say too much in a slide then the font ends up
being so small then people in the back of the room have a
hard time seeing what is on the screen and they start to
do other things because it is hard for them to pay
attention to your presentation anymore and then they
aren’t really able to learn what you are teaching them and
then they sometimes start to cause problems.
• Try to stick with mostly visuals, very few words, and if you
must use bullets for lists keep the wording very short and
concise...using just a short phrase or just one or two
words as a supplement to your presentation.
• ...AND, for crying out loud, don’t read to your audience!!!
