The conclusion of the matter is that when we talk about the missionary purpose of the church, we are speaking of the visible church taking concrete action to spread the good news within its sphere of influence and around the world.
God authored the church. Jesus said “I will build my church” God will provide for us. Jesus said “all authority…you shall be my witnesses…Lo, I am with you” We owe loyalty to him alone – Think about modern liberalism – many paths, no lostness, universal salvation The body of Christ – he directs us, both through his word and with immediacy in situations.
