8. This is a simplified diagram of a fuel injection system. All fuel contains hydrocarbons, sulphur and water. When these elements are mixed together in the fuel tank and you add heat, they form H2SO4 which is sulphuric acid. As mentioned on our previous slide, 90% of engine wear is caused by acid build-up. As a bi-product of H2SO4, gum, lacquer and varnishes accumulate in the fuel system. We would liken that, in our body, to cholesterol in the arteries.
9. During the combustion process, these elements are burnt and form carbon deposits in the combustion chamber. This carbon also blocks fuel injectors, resulting in a loss of engine power and fuel efficiency. Our fuel conditioning products work by surrounding the sulphur molecule and emulsifying the water to prevent them mixing together. This way we prevent the formation of sulphuric acid. 11. We now invite you to look at our test tube demonstration that shows how contaminants form in the fuel system, and how our products provide a solution to this problem. Here we have 2 clean test tubes, into these test tubes we will now add equal amounts of diesel fuel.
12. Now we will add concentrated sulphur acid to the test tube on the left, this ages the fuel and simulates conditions in the fuel system
13. We will now place stoppers into the end of each of the test tubes and shake them to simulate the contamination of a fuel system. We will know place stoppers into the end of each of the test tube and shake it and roll it. Within a few seconds you will notice the formation of Gum, lacquer and varnish forming on the side of the test tubes. This is how you system becomes blocked and your vehicle loses power. Just like cholesterol in your body. This is also unburned fuel, fuel that you have paid for and not used.
