Where does your research question take you? Examining assumptions and frameworks to see what picture emerges
Place your main research question in the middle Copyright: Radhika Gajjala, January 2004
What’s at stake in centering each of these What’s at stake in centering One and not the Other
Where is your center now?
[object Object]
THIS? THE RESEARCH QUESTION leads to sanitized SINGULAR, ABSOLUTE, UNIVERSAL(IZABLE) answer
This looks like a problem-free easy solution to finding objectivity…. ,[object Object]
IS IT THOUGH?
Is it though? Where is the question situated? Here? Here, perhaps? Hmm Maybe Even here…
If you center your question by erasing how it is multiply mediated by various interests and contexts, does that make you “objective” ,[object Object]
So once again - where is the question situated? And who are you talking to to find answers to your question? Here? Here, perhaps? Hmm Maybe Even here…
WHY? A context that will explain some of your question Another context that will shed partial light on what you are researching One more context relevant to the question You are looking for answers here and only here Your question Here lie your so-called “objective” findings!
So why did you choose that question and where are you looking to find answers
