certified, recognized
program in the industry.
7. Breaking into the Industry
• Research by staying abreast of
the industry news to find out who
is hiring and what the educational
requirements are.
• Attend an accredited program in
your area of interest.
• Move towards becoming a
credentialed professional ASAP.
• Network by connecting to people
in the industry (i.e., social media,
professional organizations, and
social events).
• Volunteer for the experience and
the exposure.
• Assess your skills and use your
transferable skills to get your foot
in the door.
• Be willing to take those entry
level jobs and give it your all.
• For those educational programs
that require a practicum
remember to standout.
• Find a mentor in your area of
interest and the area you live in.
• Lastly think P.I.G.; Persistence,
Integrity and Guts.
