4. Humans love to put things in order and
sort things.
So I incorporated this idea to my ideas
that it makes sense to use an item that
will sort their keys.

5. Design Philosophy
The design I am aiming for will allow the
product to be used without thinking how
it should work.
Also, the design should be clean and
make sense in the context that the device
is being used in.

drawing for colour grouping.

8. Second prototype brought features such
as the lighting system to signify when the
key rings are in the correct place.

9. Connecting with
peoples reactions
Right Animation
Wrong Animation
The key rings can be put in any of the
coloured slots, but when the device de-
tects that the keyring is put into the cor-
rect slot, a certain animation will play.
Also if The keyring was put into the wrong
place it will signify that with a separate
animation

10. This is the first prototype to use the led
lighting designed before, it adds another
layer of interactivity to the design that
reacts to what the user does.

15. Final design wraps
wood around and still
with screws
Cubes
Dependant, Reliable
Started with a normal
wooden crate.
Then metal edges that
protrude out
More metal with a bar
across diagonally to
toughen up the cube
Metal cube now with
wood embedded
Screws make it look
manufactured and
more secure

19. Started with a leaves
coating a cube to
signify lightweight and
natural sources.
A different
arrangement of leaves
with berries. To add
colour to the green,
just as in nature.
The leaves over the
edges of the cube,
less of a cube shape
and nicer to hold.

Selling Design
The striking
design of the
play cave is such
an extravagant
shape, its an
adventure in
itself.
The materials of the “play cave” are a mix of rubber and
plastic are very similar to the materials used in Hunters
boots.
DennisMann’sPortfolio
23. Hunter The open top of the “play cave” has an open top which
allows children to look up into the sky when the cave is
outside.
Experience
The experience of
the “play cave” is
an open canvas
fo children to
create their own
adventures and
become pioneers
in there own
worlds.
