9. Determine what your needs are Social – connect with friends and family Work – co-workers, staff, boss, clients, etc. Interest – photography, knitting, etc. Explore what is available Where are your friends, family, co-workers

Personal and Professional Identity Who might search for you: Colleagues, current employers, friends (new and old), family, peers How are you seen by: Your colleagues, your peers, the general public Gauged by: Your conduct, what you say, what others say about you, what you write and how you write it, and face-to-face interactions.

We are now in a time when you can start to feel like you are chased by social networking opportunities, opportunities to participate, and friend requests for you to join them in their social network.
You also have to consider that whatever social networks you choose need to be supported, the more networks you are involved in magnifies the time investment.And its all about choices, how do choose the best from amongst all the rest.
As Facebook and other social networks grow, understanding how to effectively use these tools will become inevitable.
