2. Who are these students These students can be identified in several ways. Some of these students have 504 accommodation plans While some actually have IEPs (Individual Education plans) You may also have some students who have fallen between the cracks and have neither but are in need of help
3. Inclusion You may have an inclusion class that has several of these students in there. Another teacher will be provided to assist with the everyday classroom activities with these students. By having inclusion classrooms students with disabilities are provided with the least restricted environment to learn in. This basically means that they have the opportunity to learn in the same classroom with students without disabilities.
4. Ways to help There are several ways to help aid students with disabilities and in today's classroom many of these ways involve technologies. The next few slides will explain some of the technologies that are available to assist these students.
5. Students with problems moving a mouse on the computer A simple low cost way to give students the ability to create a touch screen on their computer is the TouchWindow. 6. Students with hearing trouble FM systems – These can allow students to hear a lecture and not have to listen to other outside noises making it difficult for them to hear. 7. Writing devices There are several devices that can aid students in writing. Students who can not write due to physical disabilities can be provided with a number of word processing devices so they can get their information into a written form Some of the most popular of these devices are the alpha smart and the neo.
