2. WHO WERE YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE FOR
YOUR FILM AND WHY?
When we first started on who our target audience
were we decided we wanted it to be unisex aged
from about 15 – 48 years old. This was because
we wanted our audience to be able to sympathize
with our characters such as Roxanne and to be
able to link back to the age or be able to give a
sense of understanding about each of the
characters. Also, we also felt the content within
the film felt suitable for this audience as it
contained drug references and frequent swearing
within the film.
3. WHAT AGE RATING DID YOU DECIDE TO
GIVE AND WHY?
After finding out what our target audience was
we decided to classify our film with an 15 age
rating certificate. This was mainly down because
after finding out information from the BBFC we
understood that our product contained frequent
strong language like ‘s***’ and ‘f***’ and also
shows the use of drugs. Later on in the film, we
also discussed that there could’ve been the use of
sexual references within the film however,
because we only filmed the first two minutes then
we weren’t able to add these things within the
film.
4. WHAT RESEARCH DID YOU CONDUCT WITH
YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE?
When we first started research there were
multiple research we conducted. For instance,
firstly we conducted an online survey about our
film detailing the storyline and how we could’ve
improved on it before filming. The use of this
gave us a clear indication on what type of
iconography and content that the audience liked
within crime drama films and therefore we were
able to adapt the film and include stuff that our
audience wanted in the film.
5. HOW DID YOU USE THIS RESEARCH FOR
YOUR FILM?
When we got our results from the research we found
out some information that the audience wanted
within the film. For instance when we were given our
feedback some of the people within the survey said
they wanted a bit of a backstory to our protagonist
Roxanne as they felt that she needed to be a character
who we could give sympathy to. We did this by
including the use of an impact sound with the use of
the gunshot to shock the audience but to also feel very
sorry for her. As well as this, we tried to make Martin
Crow a very shady character with the use of dialogue
to show him trying to think out what he might say
next and why he would say it. The use of his broken
speech was used to indicate that he is struggling on
what to say and also to emphasize his shady and
unsociable life as well as his secretive characteristics.
