2. The Spartan Echo In the spring semester of my freshman year at Norfolk State University, I joined the staff of The Spartan Echo, the school’s student newspaper. I have written everything from hard news stories, sports articles, editorials and more. In the fall of my senior year, I was appointed the position of Managing/Online Editor. My tenure will continue throughout the rest of my senior year.

3. Sigma Gamma Rho In the spring of my junior year, I, along with 14 other young women at NSU, joined together to cross into the sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. My sorority participates in many activities including fundraising, community service, and educational programs for youth.

4. Mommyhood Furthermore, my biggest and perhaps greatest accomplishment would have to be becoming a mother. Despite the hardships I have faced as a college student, I have managed to raise and intelligent and respectful little boy. Isaiah Coley is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me.
