2. Abraham Harold Maslow was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 1, 1908 and died on June 8, 1970. He was an American psychologist and is known for his concept "Maslow's hierarchy of needs", he is considered the founder of humanistic psychology. His family life and his experiences influenced his psychological and sociological ideas. Humanistic psychologists believe that every person has a strong desire to realize their full potential, to reach a level of "self-actualization". To prove that humans are not simply blindly reacting to situations, but trying to accomplish something greater. Maslow studied mentally healthy individuals instead of people with serious psychological issues.

3. Maslow’s Field Of Study Maslow’s original theory was “A Theory of Human Motivation” in 1943, it is a theory that everything humans do stems from physical needs. Maslow’s later argument was that humans are not motivated simply by hunger and thirst but by higher goals. “A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself,” Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs was mentioned on 10/09/10 in a news article on the New York times website. The Hierarchy of Needs triangle has being re-designed. It mentioned one of the sociological theories Maslow had which was simply “Living to Be a Parent”.

6. My Perspective On Abraham Maslow I believe Abraham Maslow played a large part in socio research and anthropology. His work still has relevance today within the media, especially the internet. The internet is a very great achievement and something that has being a triumph over the world, but many elements of it (social networking) are holding us into an online community, one that doesn’t have to leave the house to talk to someone nor does it have to leave the house to buy something. In relation to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the internet locks us into a specific area of the triangle. It stops us from progressing past the antithesis area. If we have the internet and Facebook, then we have no need to progress to the self actualisation/justification of the triangle and it no-longer becomes one of our needs.
