Multimodal Journey Planner : Impact
• Creating the “informed” traveller across unexpected conditions and trip
changes is the major impact envisaged
• Linking local transport means with international rail/airline/ferry
trip is a means to promote public, local and environment friendly transports
• WISETRIP service links many Journey Planning Systems and real-time data
providers, and brings them to the service of the international traveller.
Henceforth, it wides their use and accelerates their positive impact to
transport and mobility.
• A remote location is better known as accessible when a trip planner can
show the route to it and the transportation system can reach it by a
combination of means
• Wide Cooperation with Journey Planning engines and real-time
event information providers can become effective
• Expansion in terms of geography and mode is fundamental as well
as the integration of unified ticketing services, in order to achieve
commercial existence and sustainability

DIAVATIS project : At the service of a regional strategy
The tourism trend favours the development of the individual tourism
model rather than the mass tourism model. The travel agent becomes
travel consultant enabled by ICT & rich eContent.
In this context the distribution and promotion of reliable knowledge
data about natural and cultural resources of a destination is of major
importance for tourism professionals, clients and destinations.
Crete is a region that accommodates the needs of variant tourist
interest, hiding a high potential for alternative modes of tourism
and such projects can become pilots for the future.
DIAVATIS expansion to whole region and incorporation of its
concept into its destination marketing strategic action plan
would be a
fundamental step.
