John Carey Guest was an Australian man who lived a troubled life. He made many failed business ventures and spent time in debtor's prisons in Australia and the United States. He also struggled with mental health issues. Despite his troubles, he remained convinced of his aristocratic lineage and claimed to be the rightful heir to the throne of England.
