SCI's mission is to strengthen communities by connecting individuals and organizations through civic engagement initiatives. Their vision is for communities with high social capital that are safer, healthier, and more vital. SCI provides tools and skills to engage citizens in 12 Eastern Massachusetts communities, focusing on promoting youth success, health, and economic development. Initiatives include a youth leadership curriculum, partnering with local groups, and online civic engagement through web portals and social media.

SCI partners with local community groups who have an
interest in connecting people to address local issues.
SCI has 20 full-time AmeriCorps members placed
across the region, but we are currently focusing our
growth on providing training and tools for partners’
staff and volunteers.

joint planning and fundraising for larger initiatives.
