Transportation
Technology The environment in Korat is very natural. There are barely any electronic decorations like in Bangkok.
Technology
Technology In rural places, people uses hand made fans while in urban places, people uses electronic fan.
Technology I learnt weaving can be very useful for the villager.
Technology
Technology The spirit house to the left is hand made. People who aren’t rich can’t afford to buy spirit house but the have wood so they make their own.
Technology
Houses This is a house in Korat which is made from mostly wood.
Homes In the urban, people make there houses out of concrete or bricks.
Homes
Food Sources Vegetables are grown in from of the villager’s house. Maybe it’s there food source.
Food Sources In urban places, there are lots of places selling food compared to in rural places.
Food Sources
What I learnt… The difference between rural and urban life. The technologies in rural life isn’t so developed. People make stuff to use and sell and why.

Urban And Rural Life Korat Newest 1

Notes de l'éditeur

  1. Pottery is one of the jobs in Korat. Potters rely on their pots to make money just like how people in urban places rely on the salary there companies give them. In rural life, potters make their own pots to sell while in urban life, people buy pots to decorate their houses or to use.
  2. Farming is one of the jobs in Korat. I learnt that even though they don’t work in companies, their jobs (as farmer or potter etc.) are just as significant. Without farmers, we won’t have the rice we eat today.
  3. These are the things I learnt about rural lifestyle. In rural life, most people make stuff to sell and to use. The reason the villagers make and sell things is because it is part of their job or just something they do. In rural life, when people would like to repair something, they would try to repair it by themselves first if they think they can do it. In urban life, most people would give it to the repair shop to repair. For most people even if they were sure they can do it. The reason is because in rural and in urban life, the lifestyle is different. Sometimes when people has always done something in a way, they don’t really change their way of doing that thing. In urban life, most people would buy things instead of making them to sell or to use. Most people who can afford things in urban life, will usually continue to buy things.
  4. In rural life, people raise animals to sell. By raising animals, it will benefit the villagers because if the animals such as chickens have chicks they can also sell the chicks. This is similar to get another chicken but for free.
  5. Some things I learnt about everyday life in rural places is that the lifestyle is different. The people and the environment is a lot different which impact how there lifestyle are. Their jobs are different from ours. In this picture, we wash by using a bucket of water instead of tap water. This is one the difference.
  6. Biking is one of the most common transportation in Korat out of what I saw. In the village, in front of the villager’s house, there were usually bikes laying around.
  7. InKorat, we don’t see much cars or motor vehicles in the village; bicycles and other vehicles which doesn’t have engines or motor are more common. In Bangkok, even in villages, cars and other motor vehicles are very common.
  8. In urban life the transportation source would be cars, bus, etc.In urban life, usually one family has more than just one car.
  9. In urban places the main transportation system is different from in rural placesbecause our technologies development are not the same. The amount we have and the amount they have is different too.
  10. The trees here in rural areas are cut into shapes used as decorations while in Bangkok or urban area, the decorations would be adding lights to the trees.
  11. In Korat, instead of using a square metal cage to keep the chickens, they would let the chicken walk freely or in a wooden cage.
  12. In rural lifestyle most of the things are hand made. Most everything is made from natural product like leaves and woods. In urban lifestyle, most things are made from factories . In urban lifestyle, things are bought to use not hand made to use and sell. The technology in rural lifestyle is not as developed as in urban lifestyle, therefore people in rural life will not have similar lifestyle as in the urban lifestyle.
  13. People could weave leaves or so and turn it into a tool to use in their everyday life. In urban life, people would use plastic boxes as a storage tool. People would use mainly plastic in urban life while in rural life, people use natural things.
  14. In rural places, this is where water is stored. I learnt that in urban places, the technologies are more developed so we have tap water.
  15. In rural places, the technologies are different from the urban places. The spirit house in rural places is like the one in the picture to the left. In urban places, the spirit houses are more colorful and has a different style than the one in rural place.
  16. I learnt that the technologies in rural life is not as developed as the technologies in urban life. Therefore, there aren’t much cars, people don’t use IPhones and so on. Most people who aren’t rich in rural places may have woods and materials to use to make their tools. People make things turn fascinating by weaving while in urban life, people make things turn fascinating by using electricity and so on.
  17. The houses in the rural area are usually made from either wood or bricks. The style of the rural house is very different from the urban house. From what I saw, the open area under the right side of the house is where people stay during the day. Some people relaxed there.
  18. They would paint it afterwards to make their house look new. In rural homes, the houses made from woods and bricks don’t usually get painted.
  19. Our style of our homes are different too. We design our homes in a way and they have theirs in another way.
  20. The villagers at Baan Prasat Village grows vegetables in a small pot in front of their house. Inside their house there are more vegetables grown. During the village tour, I didn’t see anybody selling food, maybe that is why people grow their own.
  21. In the urban places, there are lots of food selling every where for us to buy the food. Because the population in the urban places are very large, the sellers won’t have to be afraid of not be able to sell their food. In the rural place there aren’t many places to buy food because the population in the rural place is low; the sellers have to be afraid of not being able sell all their food.
  22. Our way of getting things is different from their way. We buy things and barely make things but from what I saw they make a lot of things compared to us to use and to sell and buy some things.
  23. I learnt that the technologies in rural place is not as developed as in urban places. In rural place it’s not common to see people with electronic devices. In urban place, we always see people with electronic devices. In rural place, people make stuff to sell and to use. Mostly people in rural places who don’t have much money will be the ones to make and sell things because for example the may have wood but they don’t have money so they turn wood into a tool and they can use it or sell it.
