3. Problems with Registration
 Hold for Pickup v. Mail to Address
 Limited options depending on patron’s
campus/status
 Confusing terminology
 Uncertainty about address
 New campus and distance programs
complexities
 Too many options; long dropdown
 Faculty office delivery underutilized
 Registration correction required for ¼ of
patrons

4. New Authorized Users Form
 Changes to HTML form
 Addition of new drop-down menus
 Changes to values/labels for option drop-down
 Calling functions “onchange”
 Added JavaScript file
 Adds instructions based on other criteria
 Fills in options/address according to
campus/status
 Suppresses unavailable hold/mail option

 Auto-fills

6. Outcomes
 Nearly eliminated need to correct ILL user
information
 Fewer requests cancelled in error (for local
materials requested by Lambuth/distance
users)
 Increased use of department office delivery
 No known failed registrations or reported form
malfunctions as a result of changes

 Works well for us
 But…
 I am an amateur coder
 Solutions may not be the most elegant
 Commenting is a little inconsistent
 Will need modification for other sites
