• The town was founded by the Vikings in
about 800 AD.
• During the middle ages Wexford was an
old English settlement.
• During the Cromwellian conquest of
Ireland in 1649, many of his inhabitants,
were killed.
• County Wexford was the centre of the
1789 rebellion against British rule.
• The literary author John Banvillen was
born in Wexford.

city lo learn english.
• Wexford is a pacefull, beautifull city with a lot of
museums, hotels, beaches and many young people.

and senior theatre groups as
“The Buí Bolg” street performance
group.

6. The Oyster Lane is another theatre group.
They come up with the idea to bring
together young, inexperience actors with
singers and dancers. And they played a
show during the Wexford Opera Festival.

because it represents forgotten
masterpieces.

Traditionally Wexford has
always been the premier
food producer in Ireland,
from potatoes to cheese to
strawberries, over the last
decade there has been a
