Many similar claims have been seen here, but this one probably pushes the envelope the most. In none of these instances have we even discussed what cleaning process is being used in the plant, nor what the remainder of the business practices of the cleaner are.
Here are some more from web sites for cleaners – names have been removed to protect the guilty! The FTC says that when making any environmental claims you must be able to support them.
The problem that I see is that many cleaners as well as their customers are not sure what these claims and terms mean. How can you be sure that you can support the claims if you do not understand them. Understanding the terms gives you the ability to be able to ask your suppliers to give you the information so you can support these claims or make the determination that the supplier is not able to give you that information. Ultimately it is your responsibility to have the supporting data. Now let’s take a quick look at the all of these terms and what they mean.
