– focus on fine art → digital art → digital video
• Methods vs methodologies
– my major interest is in methodological boundaries
(especially medicine vs fine art)
• Theoretical vs practice-based research
• Conflicts of demands of MRes vs PhD

4. The research question?
• Inductive vs deductive paradigm
– with practice-based process question will emerge
and be refined as work develops
• Interpretive, emic study
• Digital video practice (<5min videos)
• Reflexive methods to investigate response to
making and viewing
