   Basic skills initial assessments
           These are assessments which are conducted to give us an
           indication of your current English, Maths and ICT skills and
           whether this would impede your learning.

           It is NOT a test but simply an diagnostic assessment tool
           which will allow us to provide you with the necessary
           assistance through your programme.

           The results of these
           assessments will be recorded
           on your Learning Agreement.

                             Assessors will visit you on-site in your placement and
                             you attend a DB Training centre for training sessions


                                  Placement needs to be relevant and for a minimum of
                                  30 hours each week.

           If you hold a GCSE grade C or higher in Maths,
           English Language or ICT, you can be “relaxed”
           and will not need to do these but certificates or
           statement of results MUST be provided. These
           must NOT be “provisional”.

          Proxies available:
           If you hold Certificates in Adult Literacy or Adult
           Numeracy level 1 or 2, these “proxy” the exam
           elements of Key Skills. Speak to your inductor for
           more information.

   Sickness, absence and lateness
           If you are unable to attend for any reason or you
           are going to be late, you must call the training
           centre before 9am on each day.

   Learner reviews
           All learners will be reviewed every 6-12 weeks
           depending on the length of your programme.

           This review will incorporate the views of your
           employer and will discuss your progress. This is
           your chance to discuss the finer points of the
           programme and raise any issues that you have.

   Complaints procedure
           What to do if you feel you need to complain?

           There are many differences between people. This should not
           result in anyone being treated unfairly. But, unfortunately, this
           sometimes happens. It can happen in lots of situations
           including at work or while looking for work, in education and in
           training.

           If you feel you are not being treated as an equal you have the
           right to complain. The procedure for complaints is described
           below:

           This is an agreement made between you, your
           employer and DB Training as to each party’s

           training staff to record learning goals, progress
           and achievements.
