- Many users do not configure their devices as expected. Simple things like setting the clock and timezone accurately on their iPads were tipping one of the security measures used to protect the content streams, and blocking many users. Alternatives solutions were quickly implemented.The internet behaves differently from broadcast. Our Canadian friends near the US boarder are viewers of the broadcast signals and are donors. But the licensing deals in place at the time required us to enforce strong geo-location restrictions, preventing them from participating. We learned that IP based geo-location has a number of unexpected challenges. (e.g. IP address issued to a Santa Barbara internet provider are used throughout Colorado.)Certain constituents are very vocal. For Example: Extending close-captioning to the mobile devices shot to the top the of list. (A technically challenging problem.)User adoption goals require a re-prioritizing the backlog based on customer feedback. Most the business strategy objectives assumed a large install base of repeat viewers. The customer feedback caused us to re-prioritize to quickly remove any blockers to adoption and improve our repeat customer rate. Then we could get back to our business goals.
