2. 1st Chakra – Muldahara (root)
Energy: Grounds the spirit in the material world
Location: Base of spine, coccygeal plexus
Element: Earth
Basic Rights: To be here and to have
Issues: Roots, grounding, nourishment, trust, health, home,
family, prosperity, appropriate boundries
Physical Malfunctions: Disorders of bowels, anus, large intestine
Disorders of solid parts of the body (bones, teeth)
Issues with legs, feet, knees, base of spine, buttocks
Eating disorders
Frequent illness

3. 2nd Chakra – Swadhisthana (sweetness)
Energy: Pleasure, well-being, sexuality and abundance
Location: Lower abdomen, sacral plexus
Element: Water
Basic Rights: To feel and have pleasure
Issues: Movement, sensation, emotions, sexuality, desire, need,
pleasure
Physical Malfunctions: Disorders of reproductive organs, spleen, urinary system
Menstrual difficulties
Sexual dysfunction
Low back pain, knee trouble, lack of flexibility
Deadened senses, loss of appetite for food, sex, life

4. 3rd Chakra – Manipura (lustrous gem)
Energy: Self-esteem, self-worth, confidence, decision-making and
personal power
Location: Solar plexus
Element: Fire
Basic Rights: To act and be an individual
Issues: Energy, activity, autonomy, individuation, will, self-esteem,
proactivity, power
Physical Malfunctions: Eating disorders
Digestive disorders, ulcers
Hypoglycemia, diabetes
Muscle spasms, muscular disorders
Chronic fatigue
Hypertension
Disorders of stomach, pancreas, gall bladder, liver

5. 4th Chakra – Anahata (unstruck)
Energy: Love, joy, unity, kinship and peace
Location: Chest, heart, cardiac plexus
Element: Air
Basic Rights: To love and be loved
Issues: Love, balance, self-love, relationship, intimacy, devotion,
reaching out and taking in
Physical Malfunctions: Disorders of the heart, lungs, thymus, breasts, arms
Shortness of breath
Sunken chest
Circulation problems
Asthma
Immune system deficiency
Tension between shoulder blades, pain in chest

6. 5th Chakra – Vissudha (purification)
Energy: Truth, communication, integrity, will power and creativity
Location: Throat, pharyngeal plexus
Element: Sound
Basic Rights: To speak and be heard
Issues: Communication, creativity, listening, resonance, finding
one's own voice
Physical Malfunctions: Disorders of throat, ears, voice, neck
Tightness of the jaw
Toxicity
