Duration of the exam is 3 hours.
Exam will be composed from physics, math
and chemistry of class XII, XI, X syllabus.
+1 mark for correct answer, -1/4 mark for
wrong answer.
Number of questions is 90.
Math – 30, Physics – 30, Chemistry – 30
questions.
Total marks in the exam is 90.
Type of the questions – multiple choice
questions.

Candidate must have passed class XII
exam from 5 subjects (4 subjects if
passed in 2012/2013).
Max attempts for JEE Main 2014 is three.
Candidate must have born on or after 1
Oct 1989 (1984 for SC, ST, PwD).
Same norms are applied for
Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra.
Already admitted candidates can apply
within max attempt limits.

Application form can be filled from 15 Nov
2013 to 6 Jan 2014.
Form can be filled on the official website of
JEE Main 2014.
Candidates have to provide information in the
form, upload scanned images of thumb
impression, signature, photograph.
Pay the application fees via bank challan,
credit/debit card.
Download acknowledgement slip and
preserve for future use.

Candidates can download admit card from
the official website from first week of March
2014.
Only successfully filled application forms will
fetch admit cards.
To download the admit card, enter application
number, date of birth etc.
No candidate will be allowed to sit in the
exam without original admit card.
It is advised to preserve admit card till the
admission process ends.

7. JEE Main 2014 Syllabus will be based on
class XI, X, XII syllabus of CBSE.
 Candidates can come to know of all the
important topics that the exam questions
will cover.
 Syllabus must be always referred before
starting preparation.
 Syllabus can be used to track progress in
the preparation.


JEE Main 2014 Result will be declared on
the official website.
JEE Main 2014 Result shall be declared on
3 May 2014.
Candidates will be selected for JEE
Advanced 2014 on the basis of result.
Rank lists will be created on the basis of
JEE Main 2014 Score and normalized
score (60:40) of class XII.
Rank list will be released on 7 July 2014.

Cutoff is the minimum score which must be
achieved by candidate to be featured in the
merit list.

10. In counselling, candidates would be able
to mark options of colleges and courses.
 Candidates can exercise their option
according to priority and preference.
 Based on the options, candidates would
be allotted seats in SFTIs, NITs, IIITs,
CFTIs.
 In counselling; availability of seats,
reservation norms, rank of the candidate
will be considered.

