Notes de l'éditeur
Introduce yourself and explain why you volunteer for CARE. Today I’m pleased to tell you how we as Americans can get involved with CARE – a leader in the fight against poverty – to raise awareness, change policy and impact people’s lives by joining the CARE Action Network. CARE make large investments in women, in their quest to fight poverty, because women are the most marginalized people in the world today. 75% of the poorest people in the world are female. Yet they also have the most potential to help lift themselves and their families out of poverty. When women are given their own money, they invest it in their family. When women are educated, they teach their children. In all sectors of our work from water and sanitation to education and HIV prevention, CARE sees that women’s role as a caretaker transcends all national borders. And we are eager to empower her to take good care of her community.
