About IxDA The Interaction Design Association (IxDA) is a member-supported organization committed to serving the needs of the international interaction design community.

What is Interaction Design? Interaction Design (IxD) is the branch of user experience design that defines the structure and behavior of interactive products and services.
What is Interaction Design? While interaction design has a firm foundation in the theory, practice, and methodology of traditional user interface design, its focus is on defining the complex dialogues that occur between people and interactive devices.
A Little Bit of History IxDA was founded in 2003 by Rick Cecil, David Heller, Challis Hodge, and Jim Jarrett in response to Bruce "Tog" Tognazzini's plea* to the interaction design community to create a nonprofit professional association to address the challenges that interaction designers face in their profession.  *http://www.asktog.com/columns/057ItsTimeWeGotRespect.html
2003 Challis Hodge creates the first list on yahoo groups in response to Tog’s call; 600 people join the list and start talking about Interaction Design;  Challis Hodge James Jarrett David Malouf Rick Cecil
2004 Start of the Face-to-Face meetings; NYC Bay Area Boston Los Angeles Washington DC London, UK Pune, India

  • 3. About IxDA The Interaction Design Association (IxDA) is a member-supported organization committed to serving the needs of the international interaction design community.
  • 4. About IxDA With the help of more than 5,000 members since 2004, the IxDA provides an online forum for the discussion of interaction design issues. http://www.ixda.org/
  • 5. What is Interaction Design? Interaction Design (IxD) is the branch of user experience design that defines the structure and behavior of interactive products and services.
  • 6. What is Interaction Design? While interaction design has a firm foundation in the theory, practice, and methodology of traditional user interface design, its focus is on defining the complex dialogues that occur between people and interactive devices.
  • 7. A Little Bit of History IxDA was founded in 2003 by Rick Cecil, David Heller, Challis Hodge, and Jim Jarrett in response to Bruce "Tog" Tognazzini's plea* to the interaction design community to create a nonprofit professional association to address the challenges that interaction designers face in their profession. *http://www.asktog.com/columns/057ItsTimeWeGotRespect.html
