INTRODUCTION
• A project Glass is a research development program by
Google to develop a augmented reality Head-Mounted
Display (HMD).

• The intended purpose of project Glass would be the handsfree displaying of information currently available to most
smart phone users and allowing interaction with internet via
natural language voice commands.
• It provides the functions of wearable computing, ambient
intelligence, and also supports 4G communications standards
which provides ultra fast internet access.
• The new innovative Google Glass centralizes the
different technologies into one device.
• Voice Sensors
• Mini Projector
• Cam Coder
• Touchpad
• Smart Device
INCLUDED TECHNOLOGIES
VOICE SENSORS
• There are many companies that provide functionality of
voice sensor.
• Originated by Apple’s Siri (1st April, 2010) in iPhone 4S
and onwards models, Samsung’s S-voice, and Google’s
own search by voice.
• But this function is limited up to the browser or smart
phones.
• Google Glass is all about sensors and it mostly works on
it.
MINI PROJECTOR
• In the smart phones, tablets, or in any other devices user
interface is provided by screen that is in front of your
eyes.
• You have to keep your eyes at your screen to use it.
• It’s a better that if we link up our screen with our eyes to
use the functions of the device.

• Yes, Google Glass provide this by mini projector and
prism.
Continue…
• Mini Projectors projects picture into prism layer and it
refracts the picture in front of the retina and user can see
the screen.
CAM CODER
• Google Glass has small camera with 5MP with 720p HD
video recording.

• It also provides the feature of sharing the photos and
videos on social network.
• There is no need to keep phones or digital camera with
you.

• Just wear the glass and capture all your memories.
TOUCHPAD
• Capacitive touch work by
sensing
the
conductive
properties of an object, usually
the skin on your fingertip.
• A capacitive screen on a
smartphone usually has a glass
face and doesn't rely on
pressure.
• Google Glass has small sized
touchpad to control the
incoming notifications and
other gesture based
applications.
SMART DEVICE
• It provides functions of smart phone.
• By voice commands user can create a message or a voice
call to any person from contact list.
• Also anyone can call to glass, user can see the number on
layer and can receive by touch pad.
Web Configurations
NAVIGATION AND GPS
• Google Glass provides GPS and Navigation by just simple
command like, “Give me directions to the Boynton Canyon”
• Glass gives direction with distance and required time to reach
there.
FACE RECOGNITION
• The camera will help us to recognize the face or any object and
fetch the data about it. For example recent conversion with any
person, contact information for person etc.
ADVANTAGES
• Glass is smooth, light and easily wearable and you won’t require
keeping it on and off your pockets, like mobile phones.
• No Bluetooth or camera needed when Glass is on, it’ll do all for
you.
• Glass will provide you detailed information and satisfactory results
on your queries.
• Make phone calls, SMS, e-mails through Google Glass, no
smartphone required.
• Keep your calendar events, information, contacts updated on
Glass.
• Easier navigation and maps will be provided through Glass.
DISADVANTAGES
• Glass might give you a odd look that might create
awkwardness among people.
• No indication while clicking pictures (like pointing the
camera) which almost sounds like a hidden camera trying to
capture a non-ready subject.
• Chances are there to drop yourself down in the road while
reading a text or email since you can’t get your eyes off it.
• No public privacy concern so the worry of leaking out
information still remains.
HOW IT WORKS
• In the function of screen layout, it is totally handled by mini
projector and prism.
• The screen is projected into prism and via a prism, the layer is
projected directly onto the retina of the eye.
• This is how we can see the screen and use all functions.
CONTINUE…
• The position of layer is depends on how user wears the glass.
A SCREEN LOOKS LIKE
HARDWARE
• Camera & Sensors: Google Glass has the ability to take photos and
record 720p HD video, and proximity sensor that is a sensor able to
detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact.
• Touchpad: A touchpad is located on the side of Google Glass,
allowing users to control the device by swiping through which a
timeline like interface is displayed on the screen. Sliding backward
shows current events, such as weather, and sliding forward shows past
events, such as phone calls, photos, circle updates, etc.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
• Android 4.0.4 and higher
• 640*360 display
• 5-megapixel camera, capable of 720p HD video recording
• Wi-Fi 802.11b/g
• Bluetooth
• 16GB storage
• 682MB RAM
• OMAP SoC 1.2Ghz Dual processor
• Ambient light sensing and proximity sensor
• Bone conduction transducer
• 570 mAh Battery: Full day typical use
SOFTWARE
• Applications (Glassware):
• Google Glass applications (Glassware) are free applications
built by third-party developers. Glass also uses many existing
Google applications, such as Google Now, Google
Maps, Google+, and Gmail.
• Many developers and companies have built applications for
Glass, including news apps, facial recognition, photo
manipulation, and sharing to social networks, such
as Facebook and Twitter.

• MyGlass:
•

Google offers a companion Android app called MyGlass,
which allows you to configure and manage your device.
CONTINUE…
• Voice actions:
• Other than the touchpad, Google Glass can be controlled
using "voice actions". To activate Glass, wearers tilt their
heads upward or tap the touchpad, and say "O.K., Glass."
Once Glass is activated, wearers can say an action, such as
"Take a picture", "Record a video", "Hangout with person or
Google+ circle", "Google 'What year was Wikipedia
founded?‘”, "Give me directions to the Eiffel Tower", and
"Send a message to John“.

• For search results that are read back to the user, the
voice
response
is
relayed
using
bone
conduction through a microphone that sits beside the
ear, thereby rendering the sound almost inaudible to
other people.
GLASS EXPLORER PROGRAM
• The Glass Explorer program is an early adopter program available
for developers and consumers to test Google Glass, and gauge
how people will want to use it.
• Entry into the Explorer program was made available to the general
public on 20th Feb, 2013 and ended on 27th Feb, 2013.
• The program's promotional material stated that "bold, creative
individuals" who wanted to test the device were being sought out.
• Applicants were required to post a message of 50 words or less on
Google+ or Twitter with the hash tag "#ifihadglass" featured.
• Successful applicants were required to attend a Google Glass
event in either New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles to pick
up the developer version for US $1,500.
CONTINUE…
• On April 16, 2013, Google
announced that production
was complete for the initial
Glass Explorer Edition
units and the corporation
would begin shipping.
• On the same day, Google
also released a web-based
setup page for Glass, as
well as the MyGlass
companion app.
• Developers were also given
first access to the Mirror
API for Glass.
CONCLUSION
• Thus we conclude that Google Glass is a technical
masterpiece.

• It is based on a projector and a prism that projects the
image directly onto the retina.
• By this we can just feel something that is smart to do work
for us.

Glass also uses many existing Google applications, such as Google Now, Google Maps, Google+, and Gmail. • Many developers and companies have built applications for Glass, including news apps, facial recognition, photo manipulation, and sharing to social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter. • MyGlass: • Google offers a companion Android app called MyGlass, which allows you to configure and manage your device.
  • 28. CONTINUE… • Voice actions: • Other than the touchpad, Google Glass can be controlled using "voice actions". To activate Glass, wearers tilt their heads upward or tap the touchpad, and say "O.K., Glass." Once Glass is activated, wearers can say an action, such as "Take a picture", "Record a video", "Hangout with person or Google+ circle", "Google 'What year was Wikipedia founded?‘”, "Give me directions to the Eiffel Tower", and "Send a message to John“. • For search results that are read back to the user, the voice response is relayed using bone conduction through a microphone that sits beside the ear, thereby rendering the sound almost inaudible to other people.
  • 29. GLASS EXPLORER PROGRAM • The Glass Explorer program is an early adopter program available for developers and consumers to test Google Glass, and gauge how people will want to use it. • Entry into the Explorer program was made available to the general public on 20th Feb, 2013 and ended on 27th Feb, 2013. • The program's promotional material stated that "bold, creative individuals" who wanted to test the device were being sought out. • Applicants were required to post a message of 50 words or less on Google+ or Twitter with the hash tag "#ifihadglass" featured. • Successful applicants were required to attend a Google Glass event in either New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles to pick up the developer version for US $1,500.
  • 30. CONTINUE… • On April 16, 2013, Google announced that production was complete for the initial Glass Explorer Edition units and the corporation would begin shipping. • On the same day, Google also released a web-based setup page for Glass, as well as the MyGlass companion app. • Developers were also given first access to the Mirror API for Glass.
  • 31. CONCLUSION • Thus we conclude that Google Glass is a technical masterpiece. • It is based on a projector and a prism that projects the image directly onto the retina. • By this we can just feel something that is smart to do work for us.
