Burlap is also worm bait. I received burlap scraps from an artist who sews shoulder bags and wallets from burlap bags previously holding coffee beans. She gets them from area coffee houses and is thrilled to have another recycling use for the scraps!
Examples of bins to use at home. Each will have to be drilled near the top for airholes and also on the bottom for the worm tea to pass through. Either have one bin in another or something to collect the tea underneath the bin with the holes. Worm tea is also a great fertilizer.
Collect kitchen scraps for one week. Weigh them. For one pound of scraps, figure on 2 pounds of worms (appr. 2000).
