5. Priorities for Fall 2013
Typical course load: 15 – 16 credit hours
Recommendations may include:
– Academic Development Course Work
– New Freshman Seminar (Must complete in first 30 hours at
SIUE)
– Courses to begin exploring major and prerequisite courses for
your major
– General Education courses

o If your major has changed.
o If you have anticipated transfer work through
dual credit, AP credit or summer course work
that is not indicated on your information
sheet or curriculum guide.
o If you are planning to work more than 20
hours a week in the fall semester.
7. Important Dates to Remember
• August 9 – First payment is due for fall. Failure to
have financial clearance (payment made by this date)
will result in classes being dropped.
• August 21 & 27 – Advising Open House, 2-4 p.m.,
1220 Student Success Center
• September 3 – Start making appointments on
GradesFirst to come in during September/October for
spring advising
