6. Policy Needs (for Equality in Participation of Men & Women in e-Governance) 1. Ensure availability of resources in time-bound and planned manner. 2. Emphasize gender-sensitiveness in all its e-Government /ICT Programs. 3. Take all steps necessary to e nhance the participation of Gambian women in IT. 4. Create Rural Multimedia centers for women. 5. Ensure that the economically empowered women would afford good health care, for herself and the family; the best education for her children, good shelter, food self- sufficiency and security.

8. Conclusion From the outset, the design of any e-Government Strategy should include a gender analysis of the power structures and relations in each specific context. A GENDER PERSPECTIVE should be reflected throughout all stages of the process.
