Organizations Served:
English is the only language that is being used in my profession. As to my background, I have joined as a
Lecturer in Commerce by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, India on December 8,
1977 and having 33+ years experience of teaching, research and academic administration in the field of
Commerce and Management in various reputed government colleges like Ravenshaw College, now University for
20 yrs and others of Odisha. I was Reader/Associate Professor in Commerce (Professorship was already due as
per UGC and in government jobs you get whatever due to you but you never know, when) and retired on 31st.
March 2011 at the age of 58 (65 by UGC of India), which is the retirement age of Government of Odisha. After
my retirement from Odisha Education Service, Class I, Grade A from Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha
on 31st
March, 2011, I was busy for discharging my social responsibility which was completed in January 2013. In
between I have given guest lectures, visiting professor for MBA and was also Professor and Dean of Dr.
P.C.Mahalanabish School of Management, West Bengal, which I left as I didn’t like the environment. Two of my
scholars are already awarded Ph.D. in Business Administration from Utkal University, Odisha, India. For a
short period, I have also served as Head of the Department of Business Management & Foreign Languages in
Singapore Informatics and Business Management Education Ltd. at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I was also the

presenter of UK has used some portions of my book 'Management Thought', and Prof. Enrique Suarez of US
also appreciated my profile and showed his willingness to work with me. I’m a regular reader of enews of
Strategy+Business from Harvard and MIT Sloan Management Review apart from other journals. I always use
current news in the context of the subjects I teach. As I’m bit workaholic type, I can devote maximum time for
the betterment of the institute and it’s better to spend my retired life at different places of India or abroad as I’m
quite interested in multicultural experience also. Physically I’m quite fit and I enjoy relocation.

Some Course Plans
Strategic Management: The focus of the Strategic Management course is on how to develop effective business corporate
strategies and how to implement these strategies in an organizational context. It analyses factors going into formulation of
enterprise strategy by drawing our attention to the determination of long term objectives and goals through identification
of opportunities and threats in the environment, critical appraisal of resources within an enterprise and the personal goals
and aspirations of managers. This strategic intent must be supported by appropriate resource commitment so as to build
and strengthen source of competitive advantage. Thirdly, this long-term strategic orientation must be counter balanced
with a set of management processes that create flexibility and entrepreneurship, so that the organization can not only cope
with increasing environment volatility, but can engineer and exploit changes to its own advantage. Finally, the
management must build the multi dimensional organizational capability that is required to cope with the ambiguity and
complexity that is generated by its own efforts to achieve diverse and often conflicting goals simultaneously with
emphasis on Innovation strategy; Innovation and Enterprise Growth; Competitive strategy; Corporate re-structuring &
transformation; Competitive strategy; Corporate re-structuring & transformation; Corporate governance; International
management;
International Business: The field of international business, as an academic discipline, is broad and diffuse. That there are
divergent views on what a course in international business should contain is amply borne by a cursory glance at the
various books on the subject. Broadly speaking, there seem to be two strands of thought: one emphasizes the international
trade and investment theories, international economics, international environment and its scanning, international or
multilateral institutions, etc.; the other strand concentrates on managerial, strategic and operational issues in managing
international business. In designing the course, I realized that some understanding of international economic environment,
trade and investment theories and global institutions is necessary to serve as a background for the formulation of business
plans. The major focus of the course however is on managerial issues and decision-making, tools of international
management and conflict resolution and management practices of multinational corporations.
International Financial Management: The focus in the course is to provide as the management of the whole gamut of
financial operations relating to international activities of business. These activities include expansion of existing business
in foreign countries, decision of setting up a plant abroad or participating in the investment in another country. Setting up
of joint ventures, exporting and importing of goods and services, financing of subsidiaries abroad and distribution of
dividends on the profits earned by a multinational are the activities which involve international financial transactions.
Marketing Management: This Lesson Plan is based on the theory behind the worlds of marketing and management, such
as the 5P’s standing for product, people, price, place and promotion.
International Marketing: The phenomena of globalization which has progressed from buzzword to reality emphasis had
been laid down on the multinational corporations as well as on the transnational corporations. This course has been
prepared in response to the continuous rapid changes in international marketing and the new challenges that are arising,
including increased coverage of cultural differences, logistics, supply chain management, retailing and the impact of
internet on international marketing and exports.
General Management: This module provides you with a solid theoretical and practical knowledge about the
fundamentals of management and its past, present and future
Entrepreneurship: The twenty-first century has dawned with entrepreneurship as a major force shaping the global
economy. The future growth of this economy lies in the hands of men and women committed to achieving success
through innovative customer-focused new products and services. At the heart of this global movement are entrepreneurs
who demonstrate their willingness to assume the risks associated with creating new business ventures. Those who possess
the spirit of entrepreneurial leadership have led, and will continue to lead, the economic revolution that has proved
repeatedly to raise the standard of living for people everywhere. This course introduces you to the processes of new
venture creation and the critical knowledge you need to manage your business once it is formed with emphasis on
Innovation strategy; Innovation and Enterprise Growth.
Human Resource Management: This Lesson Plan is to present a comprehensive treatment of concepts, principles,
functions and techniques of human resource management in the context of the socio-economic, technological and
political-legal environment of modern organizations.
Business Communication: This module provides you with a solid theoretical and practical knowledge Communication
foundation based on communication at work; communicating in teams; communicating across culture, the writing
process, business correspondence, reports and proposals with a thrust on diversity and multiculturalism, ethics and
technology.

  • 5. Some Course Plans Strategic Management: The focus of the Strategic Management course is on how to develop effective business corporate strategies and how to implement these strategies in an organizational context. It analyses factors going into formulation of enterprise strategy by drawing our attention to the determination of long term objectives and goals through identification of opportunities and threats in the environment, critical appraisal of resources within an enterprise and the personal goals and aspirations of managers. This strategic intent must be supported by appropriate resource commitment so as to build and strengthen source of competitive advantage. Thirdly, this long-term strategic orientation must be counter balanced with a set of management processes that create flexibility and entrepreneurship, so that the organization can not only cope with increasing environment volatility, but can engineer and exploit changes to its own advantage. Finally, the management must build the multi dimensional organizational capability that is required to cope with the ambiguity and complexity that is generated by its own efforts to achieve diverse and often conflicting goals simultaneously with emphasis on Innovation strategy; Innovation and Enterprise Growth; Competitive strategy; Corporate re-structuring & transformation; Competitive strategy; Corporate re-structuring & transformation; Corporate governance; International management; International Business: The field of international business, as an academic discipline, is broad and diffuse. That there are divergent views on what a course in international business should contain is amply borne by a cursory glance at the various books on the subject. Broadly speaking, there seem to be two strands of thought: one emphasizes the international trade and investment theories, international economics, international environment and its scanning, international or multilateral institutions, etc.; the other strand concentrates on managerial, strategic and operational issues in managing international business. In designing the course, I realized that some understanding of international economic environment, trade and investment theories and global institutions is necessary to serve as a background for the formulation of business plans. The major focus of the course however is on managerial issues and decision-making, tools of international management and conflict resolution and management practices of multinational corporations. International Financial Management: The focus in the course is to provide as the management of the whole gamut of financial operations relating to international activities of business. These activities include expansion of existing business in foreign countries, decision of setting up a plant abroad or participating in the investment in another country. Setting up of joint ventures, exporting and importing of goods and services, financing of subsidiaries abroad and distribution of dividends on the profits earned by a multinational are the activities which involve international financial transactions. Marketing Management: This Lesson Plan is based on the theory behind the worlds of marketing and management, such as the 5P’s standing for product, people, price, place and promotion. International Marketing: The phenomena of globalization which has progressed from buzzword to reality emphasis had been laid down on the multinational corporations as well as on the transnational corporations. This course has been prepared in response to the continuous rapid changes in international marketing and the new challenges that are arising, including increased coverage of cultural differences, logistics, supply chain management, retailing and the impact of internet on international marketing and exports. General Management: This module provides you with a solid theoretical and practical knowledge about the fundamentals of management and its past, present and future Entrepreneurship: The twenty-first century has dawned with entrepreneurship as a major force shaping the global economy. The future growth of this economy lies in the hands of men and women committed to achieving success through innovative customer-focused new products and services. At the heart of this global movement are entrepreneurs who demonstrate their willingness to assume the risks associated with creating new business ventures. Those who possess the spirit of entrepreneurial leadership have led, and will continue to lead, the economic revolution that has proved repeatedly to raise the standard of living for people everywhere.
