Stem-changing verbs have the same endings as regular -ar,
-er, and -ir verbs.
But they have a different stem in all persons except nosotros.
(think “NO!” for NOsotros. NOsotros is NOrmal.
The stem is the part of the verb that remains once you take off
the -ar, -er, or -ir endings.
To determine which O or E will stem-change in a stem-
changing verb, take off the Ar, Er, or Ir ending first. Then the
next vowel in line will be the vowel to change:
Repetir Repet- Repito
Pensar Pens- Pienso
Preferir Prefer- Prefiero

Complete these questions and statements with the correct form of the
verb in parenthesis.
¿Qué sirven ustedes aquí?

Yo nunca duermo más de 7 horas.

When the numbers 200-900 modify a noun, they agree in gender.

In writing numbers, Spanish commonly uses a period where English
uses a comma, and vice-versa.
English: $121,250.50 = Spanish: $121.250,50

Difference between ¿qué? and ¿cuál?:
¿Qué/Cuál + ser?
When followed by the verb ser,
use interrogative qué to ask for a definition or explanation;
use interrogative cuál to ask for specific data or piece of
information:
¿Qué es tu nombre? (What is your name – Irish? German?
Russian? In other words, define the type of name it is.)
¿Cuál es tu nombre? (What is your name –Jim? Dave? Jeff?)
¿Qué/Cuál + verb? When followed by a different verb than ser, use
interrogative qué to ask about a general choice; use interrogative cuál
to ask about a choice among given options.
¿Qué quieres comprar? / ¿Cuál quieres, el rojo o el azul?
