2. Chilaiditi syndrome is
a rare condition when
pain occurs due to
transposition of a loop
of large intestine (usually
transverse colon) in
between the diaphragm
and the liver
3. Visible on plain abdominal X-
ray or chest X-ray. Normally this
causes no symptoms, and this is
called Chilaiditi's sign.
5. First described by Demetrious Chilaiditi in 1910.
The incidence in the general population ranges
from 0.025% to 0.28%.
The sex ratio is 4:1, men to women
Elder person is more vulnerable.
No genetic predisposition
