In 1 John 2 we are taught that we are in the last days; the days before the rapture of the church and great tribulation on the earth.

2. 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the Will of God abideth forever.

3. 18 Little children, it is the last time: They were then and we are still in the last time : The time just before this old world passes away, And those who do the Will of God enter eternity .

4. 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. Antichrist = opponent of Jesus Christ , Son of God, Messiah, Savior Fully God and fully man . Antichrists teach another way to God, but Jesus said , "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man comes to the Father but by Me."

5. An antichrist may teach good works for salvation. He may teach the inherent goodness of humanity. He may teach of a truth other than Scripture . He will not teach the God of the Bible , Who gave His Only Begotten Son, to die for mankind that we might be saved from sin and from hell unto eternal life .

6. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out , that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. "Us" is John and the other apostles: Their teaching and way of life. False teachers or antichrists reject the Word of God in its fullness. They embrace this world and its values.

7. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. Unction = anointing -- Of the Holy Spirit of God. John 14 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

8. All Christians have received the anointing of God's Holy Spirit . Colossians 1 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you , the hope of glory: God the Father and God the Son dwell in us in the Person of the Holy Ghost.

9. Romans 8 8-9 So then they that are in the flesh can not please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ , he is none of His. Every Christian has God's Holy Spirit dwelling in us to teach us Truth. We can recognize false teaching because it contradicts God's Word and His Spirit in us. We can please God in the Power of His Spirit.

10. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the Truth, but because ye know it , and that no lie is of the Truth. 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. There is no relationship with God the Father without the relationship with God the Son . They are One .

11. This is the only Heaven or Hell issue. Any who rejects God's Son, rejects God.
