The apostles preached and healed in the Name of Jesus. We must be as bold.

2. God killed Ananias and Sapphira for conspiring to lie about their gift to the church. They said they gave the full amount of the sale, But they held back a portion for themselves. 11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

3. Psalms 111 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His Commandments: His praise endureth forever. Proverbs 1 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise Wisdom and instruction.

4. To fear God's Power to judge and to punish sin can be the beginning of a relationship with Him. But that relationship can grow , and when it is mature , we will love the Lord -- With all our heart, mind, soul, and strength.

5. 12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. Solomon's porch was where Peter and John healed the lame man. It became a regular meeting place for the church. Not their only meeting place; they went from house to house breaking bread, having fellowship, worshipping, talking about Jesus .

6. 13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) No more hypocrites. After Ananias and Sapphira died like they did, Other hypocrites were afraid to join them. True believers kept on getting saved and joining the church .

7. 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

8. The Power of God was manifested through the Apostles -- in healing , saving , casting out devils , as well as in the death of Ananias and Sapphira. It was all done in the Name of Jesus , The Son of the Living God, The One sent as Messiah to the Jews.

9. 17-18 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sad-ducees,) and were filled with indignation, and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. O my goodness! I guess it's over. The rulers already threatened them and told them to quit preaching and healing in the Name of Jesus.

10. They kept it up and now they are in prison . Thinks he won.

11. 19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, 20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the Words of this life. Delivered from prison; but not to get away. The angel told them to go right back to where they were arrested, and Do what they got arrested for.

12. We have a good example to follow. We must not be timid, or bashful, or self-conscious. We must not be lazy . Tell your friends and neighbors the Good News . Invite them to come to church with you. Teach them how to be born again . Offer to pray with them for their salvation.
