1. Saul (Paul) was saved on the road to Damascus.
Going there to persecute all who believed in Jesus
Christ, he instead began to preach
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2. Feared and rejected by the apostles,
he needed a friend.
Acts 9:27 But
Barnabas took him, and brought him to
the apostles, and declared unto them how he had
seen the Lord in the way, and that He had spoken
to him, and how he had preached boldly at
Damascus in the Name of Jesus.
2
3. 28 And he was with them
coming in and going out at
Jerusalem. 29 And he spake
boldly in the Name of the
Lord Jesus, and disputed
against the Grecians: but they
went about to slay him.
30 Which when the brethren
knew, they brought him down
to Caesarea, and sent him
forth to Tarsus.
3
4. 31 Then had the churches
rest throughout all Judaea
and Galilee and
Samaria, and were
edified; and walking in
the fear of the Lord, and
in the comfort of the Holy
Ghost, were multiplied.
Persecution sent the Christians out to spread the
Gospel, but they needed peace in which to build
churches and grow in the Lord.
4
5. Peter began to travel.
32 And it came to pass,
as Peter passed
throughout all quarters,
he came down also to
the saints which dwelt
at Lydda.
5
6. 33 And there (Lydda) he found a certain man
named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight
years, and was sick of the palsy (paralyzed or
enfeebled). 2-5
Psalms 103 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and
forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine
iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who
redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth
thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that
thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6
7. 34-35 AndPeter said unto
him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ
maketh thee whole: arise, and
make thy bed. And he arose
immediately. And all that dwelt
at Lydda and Saron saw
him, and turned to the Lord.
He who had been cared for so long,
Now began to take care of himself.
7
8. Eight years in bed
Paralyzed
Not only healed, but
regained all his strength.

9. 36- 37Now there was at Joppa
a certain disciple named
Tabitha, which by inter-
pretation is called Dorcas:
this woman was full of good
works and alms deeds which
she did. And it came to pass
in those days, that she was
sick, and died: whom when
they had washed, they laid
her in an upper chamber.
9
10. 38-39 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh (12 miles)
to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was
there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him
that he would not delay to come to them. Then
Peter arose and went with them. When he was
come, they brought him into the upper chamber:
and all the widows stood by him weeping, and
shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas
made, while she was with them.
10
11. 40-41But Peter put them all
forth, and kneeled
down, and prayed; and
turning him to the body
said, Tabitha, arise. And she
opened her eyes: and when
she saw Peter, she sat up.
And he gave her his
hand, and lifted her up, and
when he had called the
saints and
widows, presented her alive.
11
12. 42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and
many believed in the Lord. 43 And it came to pass,
that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon
a tanner.
God used the time of trouble and turmoil to spread
the Gospel and save those who believed.
God used a time of peace to spread the Gospel and
save those who would believe.
God will use His disciples to do His Work any time
that we are willing to go and do.
