Romans 15b Harmony within and without
1. www.rossvillechurch.com 781 Salem Road, Rossville, GA 30741 May 22, 2011 When we are at peace within ourselves, one with God, filled with the Holy Spirit of God, We will be at peace with one another, and there will be harmony in the church.
2. Fifth Sunday, May 29, Dinner and Fellowship Visitors Cards are in the basket. Fill one out for us and leave it, but also take one for yourself to have contact information . Pure Heart Leading worship with music and singing June 5 at 11:00 A.M.
3. Romans 15 1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please our-selves. 2 Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification . 3 For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached Thee fell on Me. 4 For what-soever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
4. 5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: 6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
5. 8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision (Jews) for the Truth of God, to confirm the Promises made unto the fathers: 9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to Thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto Thy Name. Jesus was born a Jew that He might serve the Jews as their Messiah. John 1 11 He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. 12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name:
6. Jesus is "a minister for the Truth of God." V8 John 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of Grace and Truth.
7. But Jesus did not come only for the Jews: 9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His Mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to Thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto Thy Name. God had made the Gentiles no Promises , as He had the Patriarchs of Israel ; But, He extended His mercy to the whole world.
8. 10 And again he saith, Rejoice , ye Gentiles, with His people. 11 And again, Praise the Lord , all ye Gentiles; and laud (applaud) Him , all ye people. 12 And again, Esaias (Isaiah) saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in Him shall the Gentiles trust . We were always in God's heart and in His Plan . Moses, David, and Isaiah all wrote of the salvation of the Gentiles in the Old Testament.
9. 13 Now the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope , through the Power of the Holy Ghost. Humanity without God has no hope; We are hopeless; hell is our future. But God is the Source of all Hope.
10. And with hope comes joy and peace . If you ain't happy, you ain't doing it right. "Draw nigh to God, and He Will draw nigh to you." If you are living in sin, cleanse your hands. If you are of a divided mind , focus single-mindedly on our Heavenly Father -- His Will and His Way . James 4:8
11. God's desire for all His children is that we be happy , hopeful , and filled with inner peace . When we are, harmony in the church will follow. God is not glorified by fighting and fussing among His children.
12. 14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness , filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. Goodness is produced in us by the Holy Spirit . It's not a natural human trait; people are mean. But as we submit to the Holy Spirit, God's Goodness is produced in us .
13. Again : 14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge , able also to admonish one another. Knowledge comes as we prayerfully study the Word of God, seeking understanding from the Holy Ghost . To admonish is to caution or reprove gently. It is softer than a rebuke; it is speaking Truth in Love .
14. 15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind , because of the grace that is given to me of God, Even though Paul was persuaded that the Roman Christians were filled with God's Goodness , and with knowledge of the Word of God, He was compelled to remind them of some basics. We need to be constantly reminded of the Truths of Scripture . God's Way is the Blessed Way .
15. 16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the Gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. What made these Christians at Rome, indeed all Christians, acceptable unto God ? The sanctification of the Holy Ghost. No apostle, preacher, teacher, deacon, nor any man can make people acceptable unto God. It must be the work of God's Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.
16. Acts 4 12 Neither is there salvation in any other (Jesus Christ) : for there is none other Name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. John 14 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. Jesus is the Only Way to God and to salvation.
17. To be saved from the bondage of sin and from the torments of a burning hell, Each person must place his faith in God through Jesus Christ. Believe in the God of the Bible and no other. Believe in His Son, Jesus Christ , Who came to earth to be born of a virgin, and to live as a man , yet without sin , And then to die on a Roman cross, shedding His Blood for the remission of sins.
18. He must ask God in the Name of Jesus to save him. God will save every one who asks, believing. God's Holy Spirit will baptize him into the body of Christ, which is the universal church . He will be a child of God Almighty , a member of the family of God.
