2. #TODAY
(we'll cover):
1. Why....... Twitter ... at work!?
2. How....... you decide what to do.
3. Goals..... to accomplish + get what you want.
4. Stats...... how to track everything you do!
5. Extras.... to note + that's @ll #olks...
5. Kira Marchenese is Artomatic's Twitter Captain. She's a

9. Getting started
or changing gears on Twitter
Consider:
1. How does it fit into your media strategy?
2. Who's in charge? (technology and maintenance)
3. Who do you want to talk to on
Twitter? (audience. ex. - fans, reporters, execs, etc.)
4. What do you want them to do?
5. Will they do it?
6. What will you get?
11. Before you go crazy on Twitter ...
SET GOALS!
@Artomatic, we want to:
_______________________________________________
1. Know our scene. What are people saying?
Tactic: Monitor Conversation.
2. Be Heard. We want to send info widely.
Tactics: 1) Follow people to build followers; 2) Ask for re-tweets explicitly. Just
asking makes a big difference. Ex.: "Please vote now + RT!!"
3. Encourage Engagement. Help us out + spread the word.
Tactics: 1) Ask for re-tweets; 2) Answer questions; 3) Follow people.
____________________________________________________________________
+ WE GET: 1) Followers; 2) Exposure; 3) Customer Service; 4) Happy People.
13. Before Artomatic 2009, we had about 500 followers.
The spikes in new followers (below) also show when we
started to more actively manage our Twitter account.
27. @ vs. #
__________________
@ Links directly to a Twitter profile.
* Best for interaction and sharing info.
# Links directly to a specific topic.
* Best for organizing conversation + short-term search.
31. But not everywhere else ...
Text that makes sense on Twitter may not
translate correctly on other social networks.
The text on the Facebook Wall below doesn't link correctly after using an auto-post service.
Twitter tags "#" and "@" don't work the same way on Facebook and other social networks.
Don't take shortcuts - post content correctly in the ways that are best for each platform.
Copy + Paste can still be your friend. Simply tailor blurb a little bit before posting.
