Multiplying Binomials Review
Recall that multiplying 2 binomials
resulted in a trinomial.

Such as: ( 2x + 3) ( x + 5 ) = 2x 2
                                          + 13x + 15
Multiplying Binomials Review
Recall that multiplying 2 binomials
resulted in a trinomial.

Such as: ( 2x + 3) ( x + 5 ) = 2x 2
                                          + 13x + 15

Given the result, the 2 binomial factors
are not apparent but sometimes you want
to find the binomial factors.
Factoring Trinomials when a > 1
Watch a 4 minute video to learn the box
method for factoring trinomials.

This method can be applied to all
factorable trinomials (and some
binomials!).

Gizmo Practice Activity
Please log into Explore Learning website using
the username and password given to you AND
found in the support documents.
Search for the "Modeling the Factorization of
  2
ax +bx+c" Gizmo and launch the Gizmo.
After you have completed at least 5 Gizmo
problems, scroll down to the Assessment
Questions and complete the 4 multiple choice
problems.
Pronto or message me if you have questions.
Factoring Practice
Try these Cool Math problems to practice
factoring trinomials when a > 1. Keep working
until you get 3 in a row correct without a hint!
Select “Give me a Problem” to keep trying
problems.
After completing your work in a notebook,
select “What’s the Answer?” to compare your
answer with the correct answer.
Message or Pronto me if you need help!

  • 13. Multiplying Binomials Review Recall that multiplying 2 binomials resulted in a trinomial.
  • 14. Multiplying Binomials Review Recall that multiplying 2 binomials resulted in a trinomial. Such as: ( 2x + 3) ( x + 5 ) = 2x 2 + 13x + 15
  • 15. Multiplying Binomials Review Recall that multiplying 2 binomials resulted in a trinomial. Such as: ( 2x + 3) ( x + 5 ) = 2x 2 + 13x + 15 Given the result, the 2 binomial factors are not apparent but sometimes you want to find the binomial factors.
