2. Buy products made from recycled materials Product labels can be confusing to consumers interested in buying recycled because of the different recycling terminology used. The following definitions might help clarify any uncertainty regarding manufacturers' claims. For more detailed guidance, view a summary of the Federal Trade Commission's brochure entitled Sorting Out Green Advertising Claims or the Agency's Official Guidance for the use of environmental marketing claims
3. Use recycle bin: items put in the recycle bin are turned into new products.

21. Fix any leaky Just like a dripping tap, a leaky toilet can be a huge waster of water (as well as being costly and extremely annoying). A slow leak that you can barely see can waste over 4.000 litres a year. Or a visibly leaky toilet that is constantly hissing can waste over 96.000 litres a year and add about 60€ to your water bill. The easiest way to check if a toilet has a slow leak is to place a few drops of food dye in the cistern. If colour appears in the bowl after around 15 minutes without flushing, then you know you have a leak. Fix your leaking toilet and prevent 96.000 litres of wasted water a year and save about 60€ on your water bill. Turn off your taps properly and save between 30 - 200 litres of water per day. Usually a dripping tap means that a washer needs to be replaced. When you do this, just remember to turn the water off at the mains first.
