2. CULT TO DIVINE MERCY
The essence of the cult to Divine Mercy consists in the attitude of trust towards God and charity
towards our neighbor. Our Lord Jesus Christ desires trust from his creatures (Diary of Saint Faustina,
1059)
“You are to show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or
try to excuse or absolve yourself from it” Diary, 742).
HOUR OF MERCY (THREE O’CLOCK)
Jesus appointed three o’clock “The hour of Mercy” because this is the time of his death, “ in this hour,
I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion (Diary, 1320).
“In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of
grace for the whole world-mercy triumphed over justice”. (Diary, 1572)
Our Lord revealed Saint Faustina, three o’clock as the “Hour of great mercy for the entire world”, the
hour in which “Mercy triumphed over justice” inviting her to “Submerge” in her painful passion at this
hour, praying for mercy and other graces, specially for the sinners.
At this hour, it is necessary to revere and praise the Divine Mercy and implore the necessary graces
for the whole world, specially for the sinners. Jesus gives three conditions so that the prayer raised at
this hour can be listened: a) It must be directed to Jesus; b) It must be prayed at three o’clock; c) it
must be supported upon the merits of the Passion of Christ.
To these conditions one must add three more: a) prayer must be according to God’s will; b) prayer
must be done with faith and perseverance; c) prayer must be willing to fulfill the commandment of
active love towards one’s neighbor, this is, practice acts of mercy.
“At three o'clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse
yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of
great mercy for the whole world. I will allow you to enter into My mortal sorrow. In this hour, I will
refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion” (…).
“I remind you, My daughter, that as often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself
completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and
particularly for poor sinners; (…) My daughter, try your best to make the Stations of the Cross in this
hour, provided that your duties permit it; and if you are not able to make the Stations of the Cross,
then at least step into the chapel for a moment and adore, in the Blessed
Sacrament, My Heart, which is full of mercy; and should you be unable to step into the chapel,
2
3. immerse yourself in prayer there where you happen to be, if only for a very brief instant. I claim
veneration for My Mercy from every creature, but above all from you, since it is to you that I have
given the most profound understanding of this mystery”. (Diary, 1572)
PAINTING OF THE IMAGE OF MERCIFUL JESUS
On February 22, 1931, our Lord Jesus Christ revealed Himself to sister Faustina in her cell of
Plock convent (Poland), She was requested to paint a picture, showing her pattern in her
vision.
“Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus, I trust in
You. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and then throughout
the world” (Diary of Saint Faustina, 47).
“I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over [its]
enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own
glory”. (Diary, 48)
“By means of this Image I shall be granting many graces to souls; so let every soul have access to it”.
(Diary, 570)
“I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy.
That vessel is this image with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You." (Diary, 327)
Trust
“The soul that trusts in My mercy is most fortunate, because I myself take care of it”. Diary, 1273)
“The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is-trust. The more a soul
trusts, the more it will receive. Souls that trust boundlessly are a great comfort to Me, because I pour
all the treasures of My graces into them. I rejoice that they ask for much, because it is My desire to
give much, very much”. (Diary, 1578)
“I have opened My Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all souls draw life from it. Let them
approach this sea of mercy with great trust. Sinners will attain justification, and the just will be
confirmed in good. Whoever places his trust in My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the
hour of death”.(Diary, 1520)
“No soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight
particularly in a soul which has placed its trust in My goodness”. (Diary,1541)
“He who trusts in My mercy will not perish, for all his affairs are Mine, and his enemies will be
shattered at the base of My footstool”. (Diary, 723)

4. MEDITATION FOR THE HOUR OF MERCY
(Mother Adela Galindo, Founder of SCTJM)
“Oh Jesus, your Pierced Heart is the Ocean of infinite Mercy from which your Blood and Water so
generously emanate over us – Your Blood that set us free from our sins and You Water that purifies
and enlivens our hearts. You are the open fountain of Salvation in which we desire to submerge
ourselves, so that we may be transformed by the redemptive power of Your Mercy.
Jesus, in this image of Your Merciful Heart revealed to Saint Faustina, You have offered us a vessel
through which we can come to the fountain of Mercy to receive without limit your abundant graces of
conversion, healing and redemption.
Oh Jesus, I trust in You! To You I entrust my entire life, my heart, my fears, my fragilities, my dreams,
and all the sufferings of my body as well as the most intimate sufferings of my heart.
I trust in You, oh Divine Mercy! You, Who see my weakness with compassionate eyes; You, Who lift up
my misery with the power of Your Love; You, Who give life to my unfruitfulness and Who trust in me
in spite of my failings. In You, I trust! You Who calm the tempests of the soul and the great storms that
violently assail the ship of our lives, families, communities, nations and the entire world. In You, Jesus,
I entrust the past that in so many ways crushes us; the present that causes much anxiety; and the
future that often times we face with anguish.
Oh, Merciful Heart! In your Sacred Wound we hide, finding our refuge and our rest… our everlasting
peace. In the unfathomable Ocean of Your Heart, we sinners submerge ourselves today, awaiting with
confidence the greatest gift of Your Love for humanity: Your Mercy.”
,
CONSECRATION TO MERCIFUL JESUS
O Merciful Jesus!, your kindness is infinite and the treasures of Your Grace are boundless. I abandon
myself to your Mercy which passeth all your works. I consecrate myself to You eternally to live under
the rays of your grace and Your love that sprung from your heart, pierced in the cross.
I want to spread Your Mercy through your merciful corporate and spiritual works, specially with all
sinners, consoling and caring for the sick and afflicted poor. Moreover, You will protect me yourself,
for I fear my weakness and therefore expect everything from your Mercy.
I want all humanity to understand the Unfathomable abyss of Your Mercy, so that relying all hope on
it, can be honored for all eternity
Amen

5. Prayers for the Hour of Mercy (Three o’clock)
Hail, most merciful Heart of Jesus,
Living Fountain of all graces,
Our sole shelter, our only refuge;
In You I have the light of hope.
Hail, most compassionate Heart of my God,
Unfathomable living Fount of Love
From which gushes life for sinful man
And the Spring of all sweetness.
Hail, open Wound of the Most Sacred Heart,
From which the rays of mercy issued forth
And from which it was given us to draw life
With the vessel of trust alone.
Hail, God's goodness, incomprehensible,
Never to be measured or fathomed,
Full of love and mercy, though always holy,
Yet, like a good mother, ever bent o'er us.
Hail, Throne of Mercy, Lamb of God,
Who gave Your life in sacrifice for me,
Before whom my soul humbles itself daily,
Living in faith profound.
(Diary, 1321)
“O Jesus, eternal Truth, our Life, I call upon You and I beg Your mercy for poor sinners. O sweetest
Heart of my Lord, full of pity and unfathomable mercy, I plead with You for poor sinners. O Most
Sacred Heart, Fount of Mercy from which gush forth rays of inconceivable graces upon the entire
human race, I beg of You light for poor sinners. O Jesus, be mindful of Your own bitter Passion and do
not permit the loss of souls redeemed at so dear a price of Your most precious Blood. O Jesus, when I
consider the great price of Your Blood, I rejoice at its immensity, for one drop alone would have been
enough for the salvation of all sinners. Although sin is an abyss of wickedness and ingratitude, the
price paid for us can never be equaled. (…) Heaven and earth may change, but God's mercy will never
be exhausted. Oh, what immense joy burns in my heart when I contemplate Your incomprehensible
goodness, O Jesus! I desire to bring all sinners to Your feet that they may glorify Your mercy
throughout endless ages”. (Diary, 72)
“I want to be completely transformed into Your mercy and to be Your living reflection, 0 Lord. May the
greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to
my neighbor.
5
6. Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never suspect or judge from
appearances, but look for what is beautiful in my neighbors' souls and come to their rescue.
Help me, that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighbors' needs and not be
indifferent to their pains and moanings. Help me, O Lord, that my tongue may be merciful, so that I
should never speak negatively of my neighbor, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.
Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only
good to my neighbors and take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks.
Help me, that my feet may be merciful, so that I may hurry to assist my neighbor, overcoming my own
fatigue and weariness. My true rest is in the service of my neighbor.
Help me, O Lord, that my heart may be merciful so that I myself may feel all the sufferings of my
neighbor. I will refuse my heart to no one. I will be sincere even with those who, I know, will abuse my
kindness. And I will lock myself up in the most merciful Heart of Jesus. I will bear my own suffering in
silence. May Your mercy, O Lord, rest upon me.
You yourself command me to exercise the three degrees of mercy. The first: the act of mercy, of
whatever kind. The second: the word of mercy-if I cannot carry out a work of mercy, I will assist by my
words. The third: prayer-if I cannot show mercy by deeds or words, I can always do so by prayer. My
prayer reaches out even there where I cannot reach out physically. O my Jesus, transform me into
Yourself, for you can do all things”. (Diary, 163)
O Jesus, purely out of love for us, underwent such a terrible Passion. Your Father's justice would have
been propitiated with a single sigh from You, and all Your self-abasement is solely the work of Your
mercy and Your inconceivable love. (…) At the moment of Your death on the Cross, You bestowed
upon us eternal life; allowing Your most holy side to be opened, You opened an inexhaustible spring
of mercy for us, giving us Your dearest possession, the Blood and Water from Your Heart. Such is the
omnipotence of Your mercy. From it all grace flows to us. (1747)
O Jesus, stretched out upon the cross, I implore You, give me the grace of doing faithfully the most
holy will of Your Father, in all things, always and everywhere. And when this will of God will seem to
me very harsh and difficult to fulfill, it is then I beg You, Jesus, may power and strength flow upon me
from Your wounds, and may my lips keep repeating, Your will be done, O Lord. O Savior of the world,
Lover of man's salvation, who in such terrible torment and pain forget Yourself to think only of the
salvation of souls, O most compassionate Jesus, grant me the grace to forget myself that I may live
totally for souls, helping You in the work of salvation, according to the most holy will of Your Father.
(1265)
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy
opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, encompasses
the whole world and pours out you over us. (Diary 1319)

One, have mercy on us and on the whole world”.

Mercy for us, I trust in You!” (“when saying this prayer for a sinner, with contrite heart and faith, I
will grant him the grace of conversion”)
Jesus, I trust in You (Three times)
O Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly
upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become
despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy
itself. Amen (Diary, 950)

10. WAY OF THE CROSS (Meditated)
(Texts based on Saint Fautina’s Diary, extract from the book “ God Rich in Mercy”)
The lord Jesus told Saint Faustina Kowalska” “THERE ARE FEW SOULS WHO CONTEMPLATE MY
PASSION WITH TRUE FEELING; I GIVE GREAT GRACES TO SOULS WHO MEDITATE DEVOUTLY ON MY
PASSION.” (Diary, 737)
In the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the holy spirit, Amen
God, hurry and save me. Lord, come quickly and help me
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit
Introductory Prayer
Merciful Jesus, my Master, I desire to follow you in fidelity and imitate you each day with more
perfection. For this reason I beg you that through the meditation of Your Passion, I may receive the
grace of understanding each day with more perfection, the mysteries of the spiritual life.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, always faithful to Christ, guide me through the steps of the sorrow Passion of
Your Son and grant me the necessary graces, so that this Way of the Cross may be fruitful.
I STATION – Jesus is Condemned to Death by the Sanhedrin
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that
they could put him to death. But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came
forward.>> (Mt 26,59-60)
Jesus: Do not be surprised that you are sometimes unjustly accused. I myself first drank this cup of
undeserved suffering for love of you. (289). When I was before Herod, I obtained a grace for you, that
you would be able to rise above human scorn and follow faithfully in my footsteps.
Saint Faustina: Jesus, we are sensitive to words and quickly want to answer back, without taking any
regard as to whether it’s God’s will that we should speak. A silent soul is strong: no adversities will
harm it if it perseveres in silence. The silent soul is capable of attaining the closest union with God.
10
11. Merciful Jesus, help me accept each human judgment, do not ever allow me to judge you when
judging my neighbor.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
II STATION: Jesus takes up His Cross on his shoulder
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and
put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying,
"Hail, king of the Jews!" (…) When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple
robe, Pilate said to them, "Here is the man!" As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw
him, they shouted, "Crucify! Crucify!" >> (Jn 19,1-9).
Jesus: Do not be afraid of suffering, I am with you, The more you will come to love suffering, the purer
your love for Me will be
Saint Faustina: Oh Jesus, I thank you for the Little daily crosses, for opposition to my endeavors, for
the hardships of communal life, for the misinterpretation of my intentions, for humiliations at the
hands of others, for the harsh way in which we are treated, for false suspicions, for poor health and
loss of strength, for self-denial, for dying to myself, for lack of recognition in everything, for the
upsetting of all my plans.
Merciful Jesus, teach me to appreciate the difficulties of life, sickness, each suffering, and with love
take up my daily cross
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
III STATION: Jesus falls for the first time.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<All we like sheep have gone astray; we have all turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on
him the iniquity of us all (…) yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the
transgressors>>.(Is 53.6-12).
11
12. Jesus: Involuntary offenses of souls do not hinder My love for them or prevent Me from uniting
Myself with them. But voluntary offenses, obstruct my graces, and I cannot lavish My gifts on such
souls
Saint Faustina: Oh my Jesus, how prone I am to evil, and this forces me to be constantly vigilant. But I
do not lose heart. I trust God’s grace, which abounds in the worst misery. (606).
Merciful Lord, keep me from any infidelity, even the smallest one, but voluntary and consent.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
IV STATION: Jesus meets His Mother.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<“This child is destined to cause the fallingand rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be
spoken against, And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”>>(Lk 2,34-35)
Jesus: Although all the work that come into being by My will are exposed to great sufferings, consider
whether any of them has been subject to greater difficulties than that work which is directly Mine –
The work of Redemption. You should not worry too much about adversities.
Saint Faustina: I saw the Blessed Mother (…), she came close to me (…) and said these words: Be
courageous. Do not fear apparent obstacles, but fix your gaze upon the Passion of My Son, and in this
way you will be victorious.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, be always with me, especially in suffering, in the same way that you were
present in your Son’s way of the Cross.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
V STATION: Simon Cyrene helps Jesus carry the Cross.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the
country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.>> (Lc 23, 26).
12
13. Jesus: I permit these adversities in order to increase his merit. I do not reward for good results but for
the patience and hardship undergone for My sake.
Saint Faustina: Oh, my Jesus, you do not give a reward for the successful performance of a work, but
for the good will and the labor undertaken. Therefore, I am completely at peace, even if all my
undertakings and efforts should be thwarted or should come to naught. If I do all that is in my power,
the rest is not my business.
Jesus, that each thought, each word, each activity may be done only for love of you. Purify my
intentions
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
VI STATION: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should
desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. >>
(Is 53,2-3)
Jesus: Know that whatever good you do for any soul, i accept it as if you had done it to Me.
Saint Faustina: I am learning how to be god from Jesus, from Him who is goodness itself, so that I
might be called a daughter of the heavenly Father. Great love can change small things into great ones,
and it is only love which lends value to our actions.
Lord Jesus. My Master, make my eyes, my hands, my mouth, my heart… merciful. Transform me
into your Mercy.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
VII STATION: Jesus falls for the second time.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
13
14. <<“It was our pains he carried - our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought he
brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures”>> (Is 53,4).
Jesus: The cause of your falls is that you rely too much upon yourself and too little on Me . You must
know that on your own, you can do nothing. You are not even capable of receiving my graces without
my help
Saint Faustina: Jesus, do not leave me alone in suffering. You know, Lord, how weak I am. I am an
abyss of wretchedness; I am nothingness itself; so what will be so strange if You leave me alone and I
fall. So You, Jesus, must stand by me constantly like a mother by a helpless child and even more so.
May I lean on your grace, Lord, so that I may not fall continuously on the same errors: and if I fall, help
me rise and glorify your Mercy
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
VIII STATION: Jesus consoles the women of Jerusalem.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him.
Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves
and for your children.>> (Lk 23,27-28).
Jesus: Oh, how pleasing to Me is a living faith! I desire that you would all have more faith at the
present time
Saint Faustina: I fervently beg the Lord to strengthen my faith, so that in my drab, everyday life I will
not be guided by human depositions, but by those of the spirit. Oh, how everything drags man
towards the earth! But lively faith maintains the soul in the highest regions and assigns self-love it’s
proper place, that is to say, the lowest one.
Merciful Lord, thank you for Holy Baptism and the grace of faith. I call you again. Lord, I believe,
increase my faith!
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
14
15. IX STATION: Jesus falls for the third time.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<“He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the
slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.(…) Yet it was
the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer”>> (Is 53,7.10)
Jesus: Know that the greatest obstacle to holiness are discouragement and an exaggerated anxiety.
This will deprive you of the ability to practice virtue ( ...). I am always willing to forgive you. Every time
you ask for it, you glorify my Mercy
Saint Faustina: Oh My Jesus, in spite of your graces. I see and feel all my misery. I begin my day with a
battle and end it with a battle. As soon as I conquer one obstacle, ten more appear to take its place.
But I am not worried, because I know that this is the time of struggle, not peace.
Merciful Lord, I give you everything that is my exclusive property, that is, sin and human frailty. I
beg you, that my misery may be drown in your unfathomable Mercy.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
X STATION: Jesus is stripped of His Garments
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<“The soldiers (…) took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the
undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.
“Let’s not tear it,” they said to one another. “Let’s decide by lot who will get it. This happened that
the scripture might be fulfilled”>> (Jn 19,23-24).
Saint Faustina: Jesus was suddenly standing before me , stripped of His clothes, His body completely
covered with wounds, His eyes flooded with tears and blood, His face disfigured and covered with
spittle. The Lord then said to me: “The bride must resemble her Betrothed.” I understood these words
to the very depth. There’s no room for doubt here. My likeness to Jesus must be through suffering
and humility
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, transform my heart according to your Heart.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
15
16. XI STATION: Jesus is nailed to the Cross.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the
temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the
cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved
others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross,
(…)He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him. (Mt 27,39-43).
Jesus: My pupil, have great love for those who cause you suffering. Do good to those who hate you.
Saint Faustina: Oh my Jesus, you know what efforts are needed to live sincerely and unaffectedly with
those from whom our nature flees, or with those who, deliberately or not, have made us suffer.
Humanly speaking, this is impossible at such times more than others, I try to discover the Lord Jesus
in such a person ad for this same Jesus, I do everything for such a people.
Oh purest Love, reign in all your plenitude in my heart and allow me to love more than what human
measure allows me to
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
XII STATION: Jesus dies on the Cross
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.
(…)Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” When he had
said this, he breathed his last. (Lk 23,44,46): but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was
dead already, they brake not his legs: Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear,
bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.>> (Jn 19,33-40).
Jesus: All this is for the salvation of souls. Reflect, my daughter about what you do for their salvation
Saint Faustina: When I saw the Lord Jesus nailed to the Cross. When he had hung on it for a while, I
saw a multitude of souls crucified like Him. The second multitude were not nailed to their crosses, but
they were holding them firmly in their hands. The third were neither nailed to their crosses nor
16
17. holding them firmly in their hands, but were dragging their crosses behind them and were discontent.
Jesus then said to me: “Do you see these souls? Those who are like Me in the pain and contempt they
suffer and will be like Me also in Glory. And those who resemble Me less in pain and contempt will
also bear less resemblance to me in Glory.
Jesus, my Savior, hide me in the depths of Your Heart so that nourished by Your Grace, I may be able
to be like you in the love for the Cross and in the participation of Your Glory.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
XIII STATION: Jesus is laid in the arms of His Mother.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man
was innocent!” And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had
taken place, returned home beating their breasts. And all his acquaintances and the women who
had followed him from Galilee stood at a distance watching these things.>> (Lk 23,47-49).
Jesus Most dear to me is the soul that strongly believes in my goodness and has complete trust in me.
I heap my confidence upon it, and give it all it asks
Saint Faustina: I come to Your Mercy, compassionate God, only You are goodness itself. Although my
misery is great, and my offences are many, I trust in Your mercy, because You are the God of mercy;
and from time immemorial, it has never been heard of, nor do heaven or earth remember, that a soul
trusting in Your mercy has been disappointed
Jesus, multiply in me each day the trust in Your Mercy, so that always and everywhere I may be a
witness of your goodness and infinite love.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us
XIV STATION: Jesus is laid in the tomb.
We adore You and bless You because You liberated the world with your Holy Cross
<<Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in
accordance with Jewish burial customs. At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden,
17
18. and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. Because it was the Jewish day
of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.>> (Jn 19,38-42).
Jesus: You are not yet in your homeland; so go, fortified by My grace, and fight for My kingdom in
human souls; fight as a king’s child would; and remember that the days of your exile will pass quickly,
and with them the possibility of earning merits for heaven. I expect from you (…) a great number of
souls who will glorify my mercy for all eternity
Saint Faustina Every soul You have entrusted to me, Jesus, I will try to aid with prayer and sacrifice, so
that your grace can work in them. Oh great Lover of souls, my Jesus, I thank you for this immense
confidence with which You have deigned to place souls in our care.
Merciful Lord, I beg you that not even one of the souls which you have entrusted to me, may be
lost.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory…
Have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us

20. Prayers and petitions of Sister Faustina for various intentions
To obtain Divine Mercy for the Holy Church and Priests
“O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church: Grant it love and the light of Your Spirit, and
give power to the words of priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and
return to You,
O Lord. Lord, give us holy priests; You yourself maintain them in holiness.
O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and
protect them from the devil's traps and snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests.
May the power of Your mercy,
O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for You can do all
things”. (Diary, 1052)
To obtain the love of God
O Wound of Mercy, Heart of Jesus, hide me in Your depths as a drop of Your own blood, and do not let
me out forever!
Lock me in Your depths, and do You Yourself teach me to love You!
O Eternal Love, form my soul yourself so that it is capable of returning Your love.
O living Love, enable me to love You forever.
I yearn to eternally reciprocate Your love.
(…) I know and I believe that You can do all things. (1631)
* * *
“God, One in the Holy Trinity. I want to love You as no human soul has ever loved You before; and
although I am utterly miserable and small, I have nevertheless cast the anchor of my trust deep down
into the abyss of Your mercy, O my God and Creator! In spite of my great misery I fear nothing, but
hope to sing You a hymn of glory forever”. (Diary, 283)
To attain the grace of Divine Wisdom
O my Jesus, give me wisdom, give me a mind great and enlightened by Your light, and this only, that I
may know You better, O Lord. For the better I get to know You, the more ardently will I love You (Diary,
1030 not 1003)
* * *
O eternal and incomprehensible Love, I beg You for one grace: enlighten my mind with light from on
high; help me to know and appreciate all things according to their value. (410)
20
21. To reach an understanding of God and oneself
O eternal Truth, give me a ray of Your light that I may come to know You, O Lord, and worthily glorify
Your infinite mercy. And at the same time, grant me to know myself, the whole abyss of misery that I
am (727)
To have confidence through difficult times
O Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly
upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become
despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy
itself. Amen (Diary, 950)
To reach confidence in Divine Mercy for the souls
O God of great mercy, who deigned to send us Your only begotten Son as the greatest proof of Your
fathomless love and mercy, You do not reject sinners; but in Your boundless mercy You have opened
for them also Your treasures, treasures from which they can draw abundantly, not only justification,
but also all the sanctity that a soul can attain.
Father of great mercy, I desire that all hearts turn with confidence to Your infinite mercy. No one will
be justified before You if he is not accompanied by Your unfathomable mercy. When You reveal the
mystery of Your mercy to us, there will not be enough of eternity to properly thank You for it. (1122)
To reach Divine Mercy for the Countries
Most merciful Jesus, I beseech You through the intercession of Your Saints, and especially the
intercession of Your dearest Mother who nurtured You from childhood, bless my native land. I beg
You, Jesus, look not on our sins, but on the tears of little children, on the hunger and cold they suffer.
Jesus, for the sake of these innocent ones, grant me the grace that I am asking of You for my country.
(286)
To reach Divine Mercy for the whole world
“ O Eternal Love, Depth of Mercy, O Triune Holiness, yet One God, whose bosom is full of love for all,
as a good Father You scorn no one. O Love of God, Living Fountain, pour Yourself out upon us, Your
unworthy creatures. May our misery not hold back the torrents of Your love, for indeed, there is no
limit to Your mercy. (1307)
* * *
21
22. “O Greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness, today all mankind calls out from the abyss of its misery to
Your mercy-to Your compassion, O God; and it is with its mighty voice of misery that it cries out.
Gracious God, do not reject the prayer of this earth's exiles! O Lord, Goodness beyond our
understanding, Who are acquainted with our misery through and through, and know that by our own
power we cannot ascend to You, we implore You: anticipate us with Your grace and keep on increasing
Your mercy in us, that we may faithfully do Your holy will all through our life and at death's hour. Let
the omnipotence of Your mercy shield us from the darts of our salvation's enemies, that we may with
confidence, as Your children, await Your final coming…” (Diary, 1570)
To obtain Divine Mercy for sinners
O Jesus, how sorry I feel for poor sinners. Jesus, grant them contrition and repentance. Remember
Your own sorrowful Passion. I know Your infinite mercy and cannot bear it that a soul that has cost
You so much should perish. Jesus, give me the souls of sinners; let Your mercy rest upon them. Take
everything away from me, but give me souls. I want to become a sacrificial host for sinners. Let the
shell of my body conceal my offering, for Your Most Sacred Heart is also hidden in a Host, and
certainly You are a living sacrifice. Transform me into Yourself, O Jesus, that I may be a living sacrifice
and pleasing to You. I desire to atone at each moment for poor sinners. (…) O my Creator and Father
of great mercy, I trust in You, for You are Goodness Itself. (908)
* * *
To obtain a merciful heart
O Jesus, I understand that Your mercy is beyond all imagining, and therefore I ask You to make my
heart so big that there will be room in it for the needs of all the souls living on the face of the earth. O
Jesus, my love extends beyond the world, to the souls suffering in purgatory, (…) O Jesus, make my
heart sensitive to all the sufferings of my neighbor, whether of body or of soul. O my Jesus, I know
that You act toward us as we act toward our neighbor.(…) make my heart like unto Your merciful
Heart. (Diary 692)
* * *
O Jesus, make my heart like unto Yours, or rather transform it into Your own (Heart) that I may sense
the needs of other hearts, especially those who are sad and suffering. May the rays of mercy rest in
my heart. (514)
* * *
O Lord, I want to be completely transformed into Your mercy and to be Your living reflection. May the
greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to
my neighbor. (163)
22
23. To attain holiness in life
Oh Jesus, source of life, sanctify me. O my strength, fortify me. My Commander, fight for me. Only
light of my soul, enlighten me. My Master, guide me. I entrust myself to You as a little child does to its
mother's love. Even if all things were to conspire against me, and even if the ground were to give way
under my feet, I would be at peace close to Your heart.
To attain protection of the Divine Mercy
Oh Jesus, hide me in your Mercy and protect me from everything that may scare my soul; let me not
be disappointed of the trust that I have laid in your Mercy.
Protect me with the omnipotence of your Mercy and judge me kindly
To attain strength through hardship
Oh Light Eternal, who come to this earth, enlighten my mind and strengthen my will that I may not
give up in times of great affliction. May Your light dissipate all the shadows of doubt. May Your
omnipotence act through me. I trust in You, O uncreated Light! You, O Infant Jesus, are a model for
me in accomplishing Your Father's will, You, who said, "Behold, I come to do Your will." Grant that I
also may do God's will faithfully in all things. O Divine Infant, grant me this grace! (Diary 830)
In suffering
Oh my Jesus, give me strength to endure suffering so that I I may not make a wry face when I drink
the cup of bitterness. Help me Yourself to make my sacrifice pleasing to You. May it not be tainted by
my self-love. May everything that is in me, both my misery and my strength, give praise to You, O
Lord. (1740)
* * *
Oh My Jesus, support me when difficult and stormy days come, days of testing, days of ordeal, when
suffering and fatigue begin to oppress my body and my soul. Sustain me, Jesus, and give me strength
to bear suffering. Set a guard upon my lips that they may address no word of complaint to creatures.
Your most merciful Heart is all my hope. I have nothing for my defense but only Your mercy; in it lies
all my trust. (1065)
* * *
Oh My God, although my sufferings are great and protracted, I accept them from Your hands as
23
24. magnificent gifts. I accept them all, even the ones that other souls have refused to accept. You can
come to me with everything, my Jesus; I will refuse You nothing. I ask You for only one thing: give me
the strength to endure them and grant that they may be meritorious. Here is my whole being; do with
me as You please. (1795)
To have a good death
Oh merciful Jesus, stretched on the cross, be mindful of the hour of our death. O most merciful Heart
of Jesus, opened with a lance, shelter me at the last moment of my life. O Blood and Water, which
gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of unfathomable mercy for me at the hour of my
death, O dying Jesus, Hostage of mercy, avert the Divine wrath at the hour of my death. (Diary, 813)
To the Mother of God
Oh Mary, my Mother and my Lady, I offer You my soul, my body, my life and my death, and all that will
Follow it. I place everything in Your hands. O my Mother, cover my soul with Your virginal mantle and
grant me the grace of purity of heart, soul and body. Defend me with Your power against all enemies,
and especially against those who hide their malice behind the mask of virtue. (Diary, 79) Fortify my
soul that pain will not break it. Mother of grace, teach me to live by [the power of] God. (Diary, 315)
Oh Mary… a terrible sword has pierced Your holy soul. Except for God, no one knows of Your suffering.
Your soul does not break; it is brave, because it is with Jesus. Sweet Mother, unite my soul to Jesus,
because it is only then that I will be able to endure all trials and tribulations, and only in union with
Jesus will my little sacrifices be pleasing to God. Sweetest Mother, continue to teach me about the
interior life. May the sword of suffering never break me. O pure Virgin, pour courage into my heart
and guard it. (Diary,915)
Thanks giving prayer
Thank You, O God, for all the graces
Which unceasingly You lavish upon me,
Graces which enlighten me with the brilliance of the sun,
For by them You show me the sure way.
Thank You, 0 Lord, for creating me,
For calling me into being from nothingness,
For imprinting Your divinity on my soul,
The work of sheer merciful love.
24
25. Thank You, O God, for Holy Baptism
Which engrafted me into Your family,
A gift great beyond all thought or expression
Which transforms my soul.
Thank You, O Lord, for Holy Confession,
For that inexhaustible spring of great mercy,
For that inconceivable fountain of graces
In which sin-tainted souls become purified.
Thank You, O Jesus, for Holy Communion
In which You give us Yourself.
I feel Your Heart beating within my breast
As You cause Your divine life to unfold within me.
Thank You, O Holy Spirit, for the Sacrament of Confirmation,
Which dubs me Your knight
And gives strength to my soul at each moment,
Protecting me from evil.
Thank You, O God, for the grace of a vocation.
For being called to serve You alone,
Leading me to make You my sole love,
An unequal honor for my soul.
Thank You, O Lord, for perpetual vows,
For that union of pure love,
For having deigned to unite Your pure heart with mine
And uniting my heart to Yours in the purest of bonds.
Thank You, O Lord, for the Sacrament of Anointing
Which, in my final moments, will give me strength;
My help in battle, my guide to salvation,
Fortifying my soul till we rejoice forever.
Thank You, O God, for all the inspirations
That Your goodness lavishes upon me,
For the interior lights given my soul,
Which the heart senses, but words cannot express.
Thank You, O Holy Trinity, for the vastness of the graces
Which You have lavished on me unceasingly through life.
My gratitude will intensify as the eternal dawn rises,
When, for the first time, I sing to Your glory. (Diary, 1284 to 1286)
25
26. * * *
“Oh Jesus, eternal God, thank You for Your countless graces and blessings. Let every beat of my
heart be a new hymn of thanksgiving to You, O God. Let every drop of my blood circulate for You,
Lord. My soul is one hymn in adoration of Your mercy. I love You, God, for Yourself alone”. (Diary
1794)

27. Final Prayer
Oh Greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness, today all mankind calls out from the abyss of its misery to
Your mercy, to Your compassion, O God; and it is with its mighty voice of misery that it cries out.
Let
the omnipotence of Your mercy shield us from the darts of our salvation's enemies, that we may with
confidence, as Your children, await Your final coming… (Diary, 1570)
Oh Jesus, I want to live in the present moment, to live as if this were the last day of my life. I want to
use every moment scrupulously for the greater glory of God, to use every circumstance for the benefit
of my soul. I want to look upon everything, from the point of view that nothing happens without the
will of God. Oh God of unfathomable mercy, embrace the whole world and pour Yourself out upon us
through the merciful Heart of Jesus. (Diary, 1183)

28. SAINT FAUSTINA KOWALSKA
Apostle of Divine Mercy
(1905 – 1938)
PRAYER TO IMPLORE SAINT FAUSTINA’S INTERSESSION
Saint Faustina, you told us that your mission would continue after your death and that you would not
forget us (Diary 281, 1582)
Furthermore our Lord granted you the great privilege when He told you to “distribute graces as you
will, to whom you will and when you will” . (Diary, 31)
Believing this, I ask for your intersession to receive the graces that I need (here, take a moment to
mention your special needs). Help me, above all, to trust Jesus the same way you trusted Him and this
way glorify His mercy in each and every moment of my life,
Amen.
