- 2. Let’s face it: Sex & politics go together. (OK – usually in a bad way …) But, not always …. What do you think Jefferson meant by “ life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness ” ?!?!
- 3. We’ve all heard the expression “ as American as motherhood…” By definition that includes sex And that’s a good thing!
- 4. Remember when sex was part of Our brand, our national identity? A healthy sex life just seemed so American Good for you!
- 5. Maybe it went too far. Now – the pendulum has really swung the other way.
- 6. Now people say that SEX IS BAD
- 7. With the exception of Viagra, everything about sex is SO BAD that we shouldn’t pass laws or spend tax money on anything encouraging it.
- 8. Teaching kids about birth control or how NOT to get an STD? BAD Sex ed?
- 9. Take it from these guys … Over 85% of women use it … but taxpayers shouldn’t fund it? Contraception is bad.
- 10. 1 in 4 women has used our contraceptive, STD testing, cancer screening services … yet PP is BAD
- 11. Well, so what? What do you care if elected officials think sex (etc.) is bad? (Except for their own, of course.)
- 12. $1.5 Billion on abstinence-only sex ed Well, it’ll cost you … taxpayers have spent over Which doesn’t work.
- 13. And what is “abstinence only” costing our daughters? sons?
- 15. Imagine the cost of no Planned Parenthood? Could you get the health care you need if our health centers closed?
- 16. We ALL pay when elected officials won’t touch it…
- 17. We have to make sex normal again.
- 18. 95% of Americans have premarital sex by the time they’re 40 Sex IS normal … That’s as true of people born in the 1940’s as of people born today.

- The national conversation is that sex is very bad. So bad that we should MAKE SURE no tax dollars EVER go to anything that might mean people are HAVING SEX.
- Like birth control or comprehensive sex education. It’s ok to spend tax payers dollars on abstinence ONLY ONLY ONLY education though
- Birth control is bad …. The pill kills, you shouldn’t have access to bc or ec, and we should take ALL money for family planning out of the federal budget because, we don’t want to encourage people to have SEX. (IGNORE the fact that we’ll pay 40 times more for them to have babies though).
- Planned parenthood … yep: bad (Nice trademark infringement, by the way)
- SO? Do I care? WHAT does that cost me? Well to START – we’ve spent over $1.5 B on abst. Only sex ed. And there’s $80 M in this year’s federal budget for it. PLUS kids abstinence only have sex at the same time, but are less likely to use condoms or birth ontrol.
- How about the cost to our daughters? (SONS apparently get a free ride.)
- Cost PP hurts women – imagine a world without PP, where elected offiicals got to dictate your birth control choices
- Elected officials won’t touch it … remember the viagra question that derailed the straight talk express? unless WE start talking about it and NORMALIZE sex – american style – what do you say? WE HAVE TO NORMALIZE SEX >>>>
- And sex, even premarital sex, IS NORMAL. That's right. According to theGuttmacher Institute 0 95% of Americans, by the time they've reached the age of 40, have engaged in pre-marital sex. And that’s as true today as it is of people born in the 1940s. SO what do we say So, I'm sure you're surprised to hear it ... but we like to have sex. And I'm all for that! But go to any legislature, visit congress, and review the laws of any state,Nevada included, and you'll get a completely different view. We can fix this and make sure our laws reflect our ACTUAL bedroom behavior -- I'm here to ask you two things: > Get Outraged! > Talk Dirty!
- You have a right to know what they’re teaching … SO ASK …. Tell your legislators you want our kids to be safe and healthy and have the info they need to make responsible decisions and stay that way
- There’s $95 million in the budget for abstinenece only … nothing for comp sex ed.
- Demand laws the require pharmacies to fill legal prescriptions, make sure Emergency Contraception is available in pharmacies, and YES tell your elected officials you’d rather your tax dollars went $300/year for bc instead of $12,000/year for Medicaid pregnancy related costs.
- Buy our condoms, make an appointment, make a donation – and TELL people you love us! Say you think it stinks to SINGLE out one nonprofit to DEFUND.
